My Car History

There's a few gaps in this, but here are some of the main ones in chronological order....
Back in the day - Saxo VTR, yes, yes, I know. Rotrex Supercharged, lowered, uprated bushes, brakes, interior, etc etc Was in, *ahem* Max Power.
Then on from this, an EP3 Civic Type-R. No mods, other than tacky phone holder and air freshner! Brilliant car.
Around this time I also had a Honda CRX Vti with electric roof. Was intending to do it up, but never had the time, cool little car, and the roof always got attention!
Went from this, to something a little smaller. Clio 182 with Cup Packs, no mods. Great little car, but at 6'4" I only had it a year.
I then traded this in, and got an amazing deal on a brand new Megane R26. Without question, the best hot hatch I ever had. Grippy, fast, balanced, hugely capable and loaded with toys.
I still miss that car, even with what I have now. The arrival of a company car meant it was silly to have a hatchback in the garage only being used at weekends and evenings, so I sold that and settled on this.
2002 S2 Lotus Elise 111S. Only mods are Janspeed Stage 2 exhaust and BMC Induction. Since i've had it, i've had the headgasket done, the VVC rebuilt.
More recently, I replaced the radiator as the old one blew, fitting a full alloy one. Quite a big job involving removal of the whole front clam!
Since then, it's been great fun, and went to this years Le Mans, with a twist
That's it for now, although I am having rude thoughts about a Tamora for next year perhaps
Update:
Well, I now needed another every day car, so p/x'd the S2000. Collected this on Friday (01/10/10). Have covered 800miles since then and thus far it has been utterly faultless (touches wood!)
Comfy, loaded with toys (and even has the expensive Recaro option that the dealer didn't mention in advert), frugal (av 47.8mpg) great power for what it is. Only slight complaints are the brakes and handling is a little wallowy. But this is coming from a series of hot hatches, to a Lotus Elise, to a Honda S2000 and now this.
She needs some TLC. There is bizarrely no boot floor, nor can I seem to source one at present (yes, checked for accident damange & HPI!), there are some scratches on the body work, it needs two front jacking point cover plates, the front tyres are different and the wheels all need refurbishing. But so far, these are minor complaints for what is a very good alround car!

Remarkably, the Elise is fine for space. Getting in and out with the roof off is fine. With the roof on it's trickier but you develop a technique.
Only problem i've found is on a long journey, the seats are quite hard, and although you have an 'inflatable' lumbar support, your back does get sore after a couple of hours. And my right leg rests on the sill so you can get leg ache, but again only after a long run.
It's a superb little car, I love it!
Yep, the TVR seems the next logical progression, but not sure I can yet afford one plus the reserve funds to fix! Saying that, the Lotus has had nearly £2k of work in a year.
