Directed so many people I know to this thread when they start talking about how amazing current 911s are - I always tell them to look here and they will discover what a real 911 is all about

Yup when someone says 911 to me it's pretty much this car I think of. Such purity of design.

Very nice work OP it looks great my friend did something similar after buying it from him I'm just now putting the finishing it off, it's a 66 912 but it's had a bit of work but has 110bhp & is a fun antidote to my other toys.

OP hopefully we can catch up somewhere next year (mines going away for more work) & get some photos of them together.

Thanks for the positive comments smile

Now MOTed as of this morning, another year, another advisory on the rear ARB droplinks. They have free play even when new so this is par for the course.

I guess my thorough MOT prep which consists of washing it and checking the lights served me well again!

After a few months of winter slumber, whilst I was distracted by a rusty Beetle on the other side of the garage, I thought it was time to dig it out. Just a short run to blow out the cobwebs (literally) and make sure it all works.

Can’t wait for the salt to clear so I can use it properly!

Fnarrrr. If I had a pound for every time I've said that to the missus, I'd be a very wealthy man !!

Thankyou for a truly wonderful thread, it's been a real pleasure to read/view. (so much so I started a thread on the Porsche forum and linked to it) smile

Another sunny day in Wales, another (sort of) matching shot to add to the series.

I know you've heard it a lot by now, but thats just lovely. The rust is terrifying though, glad you're confident fixing it - my only option would be to pay someone many pennies to sort it for me. Whereabouts in Wales do you take it for the shots if you don't mind me asking?

Beautiful car.

I saw a really nice maroon 911 or 912 heading into Truro on the A390 yesterday. Just such a lovely sight amongst the bland moderns on the road with it.

Why the black sections on the floor pan complete with over spray?

This replactes the factory finish. They painted those bits black because they were visible through the catpet or under the seats..

Absolutely stunning car - so much more desirable than any modern 911 - everything you need in a car and nothing you don't
