Cant wait to see it! One of my mates has just had his hillclimb car painted in viper green and even in pictures the colour is so bright and awesome.

IIRC, under the silver you found it was green originally.

I think it's gonna be fking awesome. It's a very cool colour. Better than silver. smile

I’m so late to this thread! What a beautiful car - also a lucky car to have an owner with such dedication. Having read the first post “went to buy a wife a car with £5k from her dad… ended up with Porsche” to where you are now is epic!

Stunning colour, I once went to do an inspection (with the view to buy) on a 912E hot-rod in viper green but the 911 engine was just leaking in all the wrong places.

Yes, I knew from early on (before I painted it all one silver in 2004) but was never brave enough to do it right!

Thanks, it’s been a journey for sure. The car is a family member and I desperately want it back in one piece. Even if I’m never going to be able to take the whole family across the alps again they will certainly still have adventures.

I’ve planned a big road trip across Europe with my wife where the kids will fly out to meet us in Nice and we then have a week together before driving back with my daughter via Monaco and Paris. Should log some memories on that one smile

They all leak. Even expensively rebuilt ones.
If it’s not leaking I’d question if it’s got any oil in it smile

Few more pics received today:

Happy with the match to the original paint on the dash:

Doors and shell now in a final 2k primer

We are edging closer…

Steve is now letting this settle whilst he sorts them bumpers and number plate panel. Which is going to be such fun! smile

Brilliant. It’s exciting for us readers so I can’t imagine how you’re feeling.

So lucky that it was a great colour originally. It’s a no-brainer going back to it. So cool. bandit

Sounds an amazing trip. I used to live in the area and can recommend a trip from Monaco to Sanremo - the coast road is epic and can arrive in time for a proper Italian espresso!

A bit classic! To be honest it's a million miles from a modern performance car, but that is why I love it. You have to bond with it, or it just doesn't work. It won't just start, it has to be coaxed into life, you can't just change gear you have to feel the syncros engaging, and you certainly can't just stand on the brakes, or you'll be off smile

All that not withstanding it's enormous fun and totally satisfying when you get it right (not often, but I try!). Oh and it has the best steering of anything I have ever driven, even my old MK1 MX5, and that is some benchmark.

It has done stirling work this year as the daily drive, even taking in a week around the Scottish highlands with the wife and kids. It amazing how much stuff you just don't need to take with you when you can't! You don't need to buy a Zafira just because you have children!
Totally agree re just how much stuff you really don’t need to take on Holliday with 2 kids and a 911 ! I did a week in Brittany @ a Key Camp in August 05, with ex wife and my two sons who were then 9 and 7. My ex did a marvellous job of cramming all the essentials into my much missed 911 Careera ( C367 TUT Where Are You Now ? )

No more click bait… it’s actually been painted…

Got one still from Steve. Should get some more tomorrow smile

There’s a walk around video as well, no idea how to embed that though!

To say I’m pleased would be an understatement. Those light lines are just something else smile
