mirrors are already gone pal!!

Sniff - its a 96 without TC, hence me saying it should have an LSD. I have felt the 'grabbing caliper' effect on full lock. As for the manifold, i think thats a job for the future, im more than happy with the way its performing at the moment.

That looks fantastic - the best colour too. I had and E30 and an E36 in Mauritius Blue, loved them both.

Still can't believe how much car you have got for the money - it seems much better value than an equivalent E30 too.

Just stunning, you've got me totally convinced to get one as soon as I'm 19, actually counting the days now. And no I'm not even 18 yet, sad I know.

Looks good. Got a proper diff and manifold on it?
its got the standard lsd (i think) and still has the standard manifold.
What year is it? Does it have TC?
I found the standard 2.97 ratio diff a bit too long geared. Got a 3.23 out of an M3 EVO in there now and really livens up the acceleration.

M50 inlet manifold off an earlier 325i or 525i with help the breathing higher in the rev-range increasing top end power, at the expense of low end torque. A cheap worthwhile mod IMO.

I hope the 3.23 LSD does make a difference mine is going in thursday
You really won't be disapointed, most worthwhile mod I've done to mine.

Fair enough, looks like you've done your homework. So many people (wrongly) assume that all sports have the LSD.

lots of homework, including checking
with BMW to make sure it had the nikasil recall!!
I agree they are way better value than the e30 version!

Right well, its been nearly 2 months now. Spent nearly £900 on the car getting lots of wear and tear items done and finally getting somewhere. There are still things to do but hey ho, she dont half look good for 14years old! The car is going great, im averaging 33-34 MPG with equates to about 400miles if you push it to fuel light and resulting in a £68-70 fill up running @ 119.9p. Its great on the motorway as it will cruise along but down country roads it still shows it can hustle. Its such a great all-rounder car. Way more space in it than my GTV also, the boot is cavenous! After Goodwood it was covered in dust and i washed/polished it today so thought i'd take some new pictures, Sadly its dirty again now!!! ARGH! furious

List of things done:
Rear Trailing arm bushes
Front wishbones + Bushes
New plates
New gearknob
New steering wheel
Fan Belt
Air con Belt
New bootlid (de-spoilered - Thanks Dan!)

Things to do:
Get new bootlid sprayed + fitted
Fix Final stage Unit (arrives tomorrow)
Sort out the mis-matched tyres
Get the small paintwork imperfections looked at
At some point get some Vader seats front and rear.

Lovely car mate. I owned a mint example 8 years ago and loved it. It had AC Schnitzer mirrors, pedals and exhaust fitted, I have to say the exhaust sounded fab. Keep the spoiler!

Lovely car Graham,
Exactly the same as the one I had before my M3. Montreal Blue?
I always encourage anyone who's thinking of buying an M3 to just buy one of these instead. Unless it's going to be driven flat out all the time, the running costs of the M3 aren't really worth it for the difference between the two cars.

Good luck with the sale, what have you got your eye on as a replacement?

Great looking car the E36 328i sport, the wheels are touch of genius on BMW's part, spot on. Poor man's M3? thinking man's M3 more like.

I know I'll regret selling but had enough trouble persuading the gf I need a new car, let alone keeping a second!

Don't want to change much, just want something newer so I'm looking at a 130.
