Best of luck with it hon, hoping it's nothing too expensive

Apparently my problem is down to the valve stem oil seals, so at least it aint the rings!

And you loved it. Hanging your fat hairy german arse out on roundabouts.

Heard you were quite fond of travelling sideways at times too.

I believe you have the Rain Mack stains to prove it.

You have a thread I can follow?

I made the mistake not long after picking car up of putting cheap fuel in the car, so used to it with the Aygo. Put the proper stuff in this evening and OMFG the difference is amazing. I have been driving around randomly ever since. cloud9

So the engine as blown up frown

Do I put in a new/reconditioned engine? a V6 maybe? or let this car die? it has had a lot of money spent on it in the past 5 months and I do love it. Am so confused.

biggrin

Am going to have to get another car and I have a 3k budget, so how much do I spend on turning this car into something fun for the track as I really want to race in the TSS and the MR2 Championship? and hpw much on the car as I need a practical relaible car? Thing is I despise pretty much all practical normal boring cars frown

Lovely Mister Two, shame the engine has gone frown

My suggestion, late 80s/early 90s Jap with pop up headlights wink Seriously though if you have a reliable garage and can source a replacement engine thats not too expensive, why not just replace the engine? When my last car (Alfa 145) blew up, I had to make a choice, replace engine or buy something else for the price it would cost to replace it. I decided there wasn't anything else I wanted so went ahead and rebuilt the engine!

Rebuild it, don't let it die. I am just about to have a lot of work done on mine which will nto be cost effective but I think it is worth it to keep these cars on the road.

A direct competitor to these cars (the MX5) is very popular on here but I think these are better and much rarer. A true grin factor to driving.

And this colour is the best (dark Blue Pearl, commonly called Mica Blue)

Awww you two not helping me here!

Got quotes for new engine from 200-400 and also an offer from a friend who would fit it for free! Sadly I think he wont fit it without wanting at least a date from me in return, so I am in a moral quandry. frown

I would love to do the rebuild so much but everything practical wise is against me!

Go on, be immoral. It's just a date and such a shame not to rebuild that car. Still remember how much fun I had test driving one - although I bought the mark 2 2.0 version it was never as raw as that.
