Pocket money. Birthday money. Chores. Car washing etc. Not buying other superfluous stuff.

A great example of saving patiently and reaping the rewards.

Well done. I did not have a push bike when I was twelve. Dad did not believe in pocket money. Plus I was working for him after school and weekends.
Great project and good luck with it.

That's just bloody brilliant! Well done chap!

Wish I'd thought of doing that when I was 12, mind you I doubt my parents would let me frown

I used to get 10p for pocket money a week. I'd have been waiting a while.

Beats my Renault 4 at 14... which cost me £50, which I scraped together from somewhere... can't be too far off £170 in today's money? Well done!

tis a fair point... what are you actually going to do with it..? apart from the obvious of course. Its going to be a bit painful id imagine doing all that work on the car and not being able to drive it for several years.... I dont like not days, never mind years...!

Yes but he'll have a perfectly restored classic when he does turn 17. I really really hope you can get insured on it when you pass, would be pretty cool!
