Well a bit has changed. Sold the m3 so its just the golf now.
Replaced the rear tyres
Added a small sub so we do not have to cut holes for speakers
Git a original vw roof rack retro lol
Fitted some trim bits.
Got the dash lights working today
Cleaned.
Suspension is next on our list as its shot. Going for jamex coilovers to lower the front slighty and stiffen the ride

Cheers mate. What do you use on your black plastic
And have you sprayed the red grill strip on the front end.

I use peanut butter on the black plastic. Smooth not nutty biggrin

I am currently looking for a new grill that one is all broken and I sprayed the red stripe but it is awful. The car is currently off the road but I am planning on restoring it at some point.

I was sceptical at first but if you get a tea towel and dip it in and rub it on until any residue disappears you end up with a great finish and it lasts for ages too. I have tried loads things and peanut butter works the best. Just make sure you buy smooth.

I need a head lining but have been messed about so many times

Peanut butter? Not heard that one laugh

In my many years of cleaning Golf bumpers the single best product is child's shoe scuff remover, the bottle with the foam applicator under the cap. A couple of coats of that last absolutely ages.

Tried that too and Peanut butter is better!

My car needs the drivers seat bolster repairing, a new grille, some paint correction and the wheels refurbing and it will be just about perfect.

So do you rub it in then wash it off.. What do you do about the smell

Just rub it in until the brown paste is fully rubbed in and you end up with a black finish, don't wash it off. I usually apply it after washing and drying the car. It doesn't smell when spread that thinly. I'm sure you can buy little kids size jars and do a little tester patch if you are unsure!

I will try that at the weekend. Getting prices at the moment to fit a heater matrix as ours is blowing cold air

Luckily I've not had that problem the car warms up quite nicely. Apparently the original ones used to burst sending boiling hot fluid into the cabin. There was a big recall on them. Might be worth checking out if yours has been done whilst fiddling.
