My 2 Cars (Current & Previous)
Discussion
Hi Guys,
long time reader, 1st time poster.
This was my first car around 6 years ago, 2004 Citroen C2 VTR
Started life as such
4 years later it ended up like this
Sold in 2008, and currently for sale on PH by its current owner.
Spent around £30k on it in my late teens which I thought was very clever at the time, I can see now how that could have been better spent (or saved even).
Bought this to replace it in 2008
2006 BMW 523i M-Sport
Last month some smart arse decided to run a key through the driver side front to back
Currently in the market for a RR Sport to replace the BMW, but Sturgess Leicester dont seem too keen for me to part with some Hard Earned', so will probably head to another dealership who are a bit more forthcoming in their sales department.
Thanks for looking, Sag

I'm sorry. Each to their own and all that.
But.
WTF?
30k?
As I said, I thought it was very cool at the time and sort of got caught up in it all.But.
WTF?
30k?
The car cost 8k and the mods used to pile up, spending thousands every few months on posh speakers, amplifiers, air suspension and so on! Alot of the bits I bought didn't even make it onto the car and either sold on, or are still sat in my garage.
Wish I had not spent that much and invested the money elsewhere, but we live & we learn!

Beemer is very nice! Big improvement. I think the C2 is horrid. Im not against all modded cars but thats modded so much its became very impractical not my cup of tea. How did you get 30k in your teens?
A question that's running through my head! At 18 I would do so much more with that 30 grand! But each to thier own. It's a shame you 'regret' it as such. But nice beemer mate! Congrats on having a very decent car so early on in life.
I did know the C2 wasn't to most peoples taste.
To be honest, by the time I had come to sell it, it wasnt even to my taste!
My old man forked out 2k towards the car & I put in 6k.
I then squandered most of my wages for 2 years on the car until I realised how much I was throwing away.
I always maintain I dont regret it, but looking back now, i probably do!
Just waiting for the damage repair on the BMW now. Going to see what the bodyshop can machine polish out and then decide what needs painting.

Glad you guys like the beemer at least!
My farther used to own an E34, so growing up I fell in love with the E39, and all things 5-series. Always wanted an E60 and spent about 12 months looking for one. I know the engine isn't the greatest and it doesnt pull very well, but it's got all the creature comforts and styling/colour combo was to the spec I was after.
Paul - I sold the car for £6k, the interior & audio for £4k and the spares for £2k.
Thanks again for comments on the beemer

Should that go in the biggest gain / loss thread? an 18k loss on a citroen C2 is epic
30k is a monstrous ammount of money to spend on a citroen.

Hi Sag! Good to see you over here.
Only thing I miss about my C2 are the paddles, they were quite good.. The '5 is alot more fun though
Love your BMW.
Hello RJ! Cheeky confession, it was you who unknowingly guided me onto the PH forums!Only thing I miss about my C2 are the paddles, they were quite good.. The '5 is alot more fun though
Love your BMW.
Hope the Mx5 is treating you well
Podie - never had any damage to the C2, and I can honestly say I drove it (and parked it) alot more than I drive the BMW. Going to start the damage repair on the BMW this weekend.
Japveesix - Rest assured the BMW will be staying standard, and has done for the 2 years i've owned it.
The VTR was great as standard as they have a flappy padde box. The lag wasn't as bad as the media made out, and with the 1600cc engine, it was a good blast around town!

See, odd one that. The C2 isn't most people's cup of tea (on this forum), yet the Beemer is... and that's the one that gets damaged.
