I love these! 560sec is still on my wish list.

I'd remove the chrome on the wheel arches and change the alloys to BBS of the same vintage though.

Either way, great car!

Seen loads of Mercs with these chrome arch things. Are Mercs prone to rust at these points? I can't think of any other reason that they'd be fitted. They just ruin the looks

Agreed on the arches- as well as the trim around the rear lights. Too much chrome IMHO.

Aren't those chrome spats usually fitted to hide rust?

Never thought of that. Also I thought all SEC's had metallic paint as standard? I could be wrong-

Yes they are, but even if it was clean when the spats went on, it'll be rusty now. Those spats are buggers for causing rust.

Lovely cars so look after and enjoy it. I would be very tempted to change the alloys for some period ones. Got any other shots to share?

Great colour!

AMG Monoblocks or steelies with painted hubcaps are what you need...

Pained hub caps are surely too last gen for the 500. Monoblocks are too commonly applied to low end abused models IMO. I reckon a set of 16's like the set of a 190 cossie would be perfect.

Yeah, but they look great in red. smile

I wish that MB would bring the colour coded hubcap back...
