Tbh, I don't think people being shocked at the price is anything to do with it being an 'S Countryman, rather than just an 'S or whatever.

I just think £32k for ANY mini/small posh car is absolutely stupid.

But hey thats my opinion, and you can't really knock having it as a company car, considering you aren't paying the £32k smile.

Andy, ordering your staff to stick up for you on here is'nt doing your thread any favours hehe
Umh good idea , mind you one of them drives this ! Which is 30k How many people will dislike it. I wonder ?

I know the countryman is not to everyone's taste . But I like it , its broght a new group of customers to the brand . Oh and it pays the bills !!!

But I will get them on line to stick up for me !! Three beautiful girls sticking up for me !
That is nice, not how id spend £30k (if i had it) but to me the way your countryman is specced it just looks like it wants to be (and may aswell be with those tyres) a jcw.

each to their own, but like many have said I think £32k is far too much.

Think BMW may have got carried away with their own success - can't see many people walking through the showroom past X3's, X1's, 3 series, etc in favour of this

If its a company car though, tax must be a bit of killer - or can you get around this being a dealer?
company car tax banding Means I can drive up to 35K within my banding .

Eh?

Company car tax is based on emissions and list price.

That's going to cost a fortune on your tax code.

Like I said, no way I would drop £32,000 notes on that thing, but for a company car, you can't complain.

Around £200 / month at 40% tax, or £100 / month at 20% tax.

That's a not insignificant amount for a company car - given how much £200 / month would get elsewhere.

Especially as a top-spec Cooper 1.6D (Sport / Media pack) comes in at £84 and £42 / month, depending on tax rate.

Costs me £232 per month inc fuel , tax , insurance . I personally think it is a good deal . I also have a JCW hatch at my full disposal , Which i drive at the weekends . Oh and an M3 when i so desire

It's nice... but not 32k nice IMO

I see mini as stylish but attainable for the average Joe/Joette.

When you work it out - it sounds like a decent enough deal - I just hate paying the inland revenue to have a company car - which I have to have to do my job.

At first I didn't like the look of the countryman but it has really grown on me. People have a problem with it being so big, but Mini have neatly and competently filled a niche. It's not as if they can magic all that extra space into a standard size mini. Compared to the Golf R I think it's good value, if not as quick.

I'm seriously considering part exchanging a MK5 GTI for one in the same colours as yours minus the alloys. I'd always hankered after a regular cooper s but the size was too much of an issue.

Thanks for posting the pics and I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts on it.

But they won't, I believe most MINI dealers are separate now. Anyway, the reality is I'm sure mini will sell a boat load of these.

Personally I like them, they do seem colour/wheel specific though.

I think the op's car looks ace !

Well said. Mini countryman is the Wayne Rooney of the BMW Mini car range.

I'd walk past any BMW, including (in a fantasy world) a new M6 for the same price (only just) because I have specific criteria of what I want in a car, which only the mini and a few other cars would fill.

You gave up a WC50! That in itself is a crime in my book biggrin

I think the Countryman still needs to grow on me too, though if you work at MINI I'm sure you should just sort out an R53 JCW! biggrin

I really like these, especially in black with the black alloys.

As someone else said its not a MINI, but saying that the MINI stopped being a MINI when BMW took over.

As for the price, its a company car he didn't pay £32k for it.

Nice car OP, enjoy.
