He didn't. Read the thread, if you can. Did that really make you 'laugh out loud' three times? Interesting. You must literally st yourself when something really funny happens.

Do think it looks kinda funky/cool, definitely more so than the 2dr variants. Still nowhere near as cool as an original mini though.

I saw one of these up close on the road yesterday in traffic, it looked like it was a fully spec'd up S model, in a nice shade of metallic brown, but it looked ridiculous.
Who ever designed this model should be booted out the automotive industry it just looks so awfull, bulbous, over proportioned and has far too many bits of chrome 'bling stuck to the body. I like Mini's but this model is just horrible.

My 2 pence... I am not really a fan of the countryman, it's an aquired choice and each to their own.
I have been out in one of these. Exactly the same spec as I see here (nav, wheels etc). It was in the snow and I was amazed by it. We we're driving around on slightly compacted snow in a housing estate, despite being on low profile rubber it gripped OK and drifted very well. Was excellent fun.
How ever the price at 32k is a bit steep for any car of this class/size. More than an R32 golf which is the same size, 4x4 and has a nicer engine?
Also what were BMW thinking with the "lifestyle bar" that deletes the middle rear seat, looks rubbish and serves no purpose at all!!!! Should have been called the gay bar!!! Would have been better with a centre console.
Overall though, the countryman is an interesting choice, nice to see our roads with some diversity on them.

As petrol head, the majority of us would not part with £32k for a Mini - regardless of how tarted up it is, but - there are customers who will, a lot of them I suspect. BMW are a business, and as such are there to make money - so fair play to them for allowing people to spend what they want, on their product. That car has what, £12-13k of options? (base price £19k) One of the main things the hugely successful BMW Mini has exploited is the fact that people like making them individual.
Similar reaction to the Golf R - can be specced up to £40k, yes it is expensive and yes we would all buy something else, but optional extra's are just that - optional. A base 123d is what, £26k and fully specced it is £39k
"ahh yes, but you could get a Seat Lean Cupra FR with more options for £10 k less" Yawn.
Horses for courses - if anyone wants to go and spend £32k on a MIni, then good for them.
As for people not walking past an X5, X1, 3 series etc for a Mini clubman - of course they would. I seriously doubt somebody going to look at a clubman would actually walk away with anything else.

When the Countryman first came out i was not keen. But they have grown on me and are now top of list for my wife's new car.

As you work for Mini I'm sure you won't mind telling us the list price of that little lot. Any change from £30k?
And I quite like it btw.

Wow. That's a lot of cash for a small, pretty ugly car.
