That's just normal s1 BX lego.

The Digitness... Well...
I meant the digitness not the pods, the S2 was boringly normal in comparison. Especially as my parents had GSA's and GS's before.

As I've probably already said in here, my dad had a Digit from new, hence why it caught my attention. C65 CNF was the plate. In silver. Was traded in '93 or '94 IIRC, for a R25 TXE Executive.

In addition to the digital dash, the Digit also had a pull-out Pioneer head unit - I got told off multiple times for sitting in the car on the dirve, with the stereo on far too loud.

BX GT Digit up at auction today in Bicester. Reckons it's the only remaining RHD model - that true do you think Kitchski

Yup, it's definitely a genuine Digit. It's the only one I know of in the UK now. Apparently none were sold here; they were given away in raffles by selected dealers. That could just be an old myth, but it's what I've heard.

I actually drove that car around a farm about 12 years ago (and filmed the speedo!) It was in a pretty poor way for a number of years, and when the owner at the time (a chap I knew) was forced to give it up, I put my name down right away. Sadly, someone swiped it from under my nose, and it went up north.
From there, a well-known Citroen enthusiast picked it up and restored it, before selling it. Probably pumped more money into it than they saw back! It went to a dentist, who had a huge car collection. JLR - at some point - have acquired that collection, and are now auctioning it off. My guess is it'll make £4k or so, though apparently up close it's not the best resto ever (I haven't seen it since I drove it).

It's basically a GT, same as my Dad's in one of the other threads, but has a few tweaks (largely to make it even LESS sporty). Had corduroy-type upholstery too, if I remember correctly!

Some early BXs used the CX/GSA-style drums in the same lego architecture.

But most were boringly normal.
T'other way round!

All mk1 BXs except the GT (and Sport; 4TC) used the revolving drum/bathroom scales speedo.

Like my TRS:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

It also has the needlessly complicated-looks-like-LCD-but-is-actually-something-really-complex-and-expensive-that-I-can't-remember rev counter.

The GT has the CX round dials, which allude to its 'sporting' pretensions biggrin

Like my Dad's:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

That GT really needs an update!

I'll have to ask my dad about the sales process then when he got his - I've never heard anything about a raffle process. Am fairly positive he bought it, but then I would've only been 7 when he bought it. I've e-mailed him about this. Had I spotted it sooner I reckon he could've been persuaded to take a punt on it, as he truly loved that car.

Well, if you ever hear it repeated you can put it to bed at least. My dad's confirmed he traded his A-reg Red 16 TRS in for it, as I thought. Garage was Sven Carlsson's Citroen in Rochdale.

I'm amazed! I honestly thought it would go for a few grand.

I was going to have it on my screen, and bid if it was low, but was working on a car and totally forgot. Ah well, I've got enough other BXs to keep me busy! Hopefully it'll go to someone who will actually use it.

No, it's not mine!

I see there's a 16v for sale, needs paint but could be alright aside from that. Do you know the car, OP?

Also there's an £11k CX GTI Turbo, looks pretty wonderful as it should at that money.

That CX GTi is amazing. Never seen one before. Love that even the performance model still has the spare tyre under the bonnet

Most turbos are series 2, with the bigger plastic bumpers.

An s1 turbo is a lovely thing. But that's going to have to be bloody good for the money.

It's a spacesaver.... Turbos used 210/55 390 TRXs, but nothing wider than 185/190 fits under the bonnet... Even late 14" wheel cars, on 195/70, had 185/80 spares...

I don't know the car myself, though I've seen it advertised on Facebook and in BX circles for a week or two. I know someone went to see it, but minced over the fact it was a Cat C (despite the fact a broken foglamp would probably write-off a BX these days). The guy selling it seemed genuine enough, and didn't realise it was a Cat C as he'd never checked (to be fair, I've never checked mine since 2004 :hehe) He's got other Citroens to concentrate on, including an AX GT IIRC.

It was priced fairly, and they're so rare that you've got to take what you can get really, if you want one. I'd have no issue with it, provided there was no evidence of significant repair work anywhere.
If memory serves, someone mentioned it having a new bumper a few years back, so that could easily have been the cause. Any viewings need to be with someone who knows what to look for, to be honest. Rust is your enemy, not a HPI check! If it's free from the usual rot spots, it's worth every penny, if not more.

Oh, well in that case it's either a Cat D, or the owner is a billy bullstter.
