Very nice example, mine has a proble where the window wont drop on the passengers side (I think central locking unit in the door may be the problem)also just had a rear spring break, but thats on a set of coilovers and after around 44,000 miles on the worst roads for potholes.

Only problem I had with mine and it will affect all Astra coupe's, was the front windows, they drop 1cm or so when you go to open the door, however when it freezes outside the windows dont drop, bit of a problem unless you have some deicer or an ice scraper on your person.
Not just an Astra problem, Evo's long term Scirocco and Z4 (I think) did the same thing. It probably happens to everything with pillarless doors.
Indeed. My '98 406 Coupe used to do the same thing in winter. Always had to have de-icer around the glass before attempting to open the doors.
Happens to everything with pillarless doors I think.

My 98 Alfa Spider does it.
My 2008 Alfa Spider did it.
My mates 2005 SLK does it.
Get the same problem on the Mustang. Best way round it is to put a thin layer of vaseline on all surfaces where the glass touches. Stops it freezing to the rubbers.

Very nice car by the way Louisa.
Don't use petroleum based products, silicon spray is the way to go. smile

Thanks for the tip! Will give it a go when it starts to get icy. Luckily the other half has access to cans and cans of the stuff at work smile

Everythings great with the car so far, but having a bit of trouble with the CD autochanger- it has a habit of skipping and telling me two of the four CDs have errors and to check they are in properly, despite several attempts at taking it out and putting it in again. Anyone else had any problems like this?

Cheers

Astra standard stereos are fairly poor IMO.

An aftermarket standard din sized will drop straight in. Although you may need a connects kit to keep the steering wheel buttons working.

Nice looking car.

Cheers. Think I'm gonna get a Clarion CZ200E (good writeup for under my budget and like the blue lighting, goes with the blue backlit dials!) which has Ipod compatability.

Then just the rear bumper knock to sort and all will be well smile
