Excuse my ignorance, but what is the object hanging out the bottom right of the bumper? What engine are you running and in what state of tune to need those, quite frankly, massive vents!?! eek

I won't tell you how upset I was that this wasn't a certain '86 ish Cosworth frown

What's wrong with it? If it works, where's the problem?

I like it (the car) a lot.

There is no problem; he just doesn't like it. That's ok.

Agree with petrolsniffer - I don't think the red sunstrip suits it. Black one would have been fine IMO.

Having said that it's your car and if you want to put a pink or yellow sunstrip on, no one can stop you (please don't though).

Rest of the car looks uber cool. Love the satin black.

Good car, can we have more pics please?

Couple of pointers:

1) Sunstrip looks wk.... no matter what colour

2) Bonnet vents, real or not.... looks wk

3) Its not anywhere close to an RS500 apart from bonnet vents......... which look wk

Other than that, I like it! Any more pics of the inside / build?

Would tend to agree but removing the sun visors to install a rollcage tend to make sunstrips a necessity, I'd have gone a more subtle one though.

It looks okay - some bits few people will like.
Colour works well.

Any engine work performance wise?

The 2.0 16v engine in these does get hot but not sure those vents will aid that much and you must be quite short to see under that sunstrip too but that aside, its a track car everything else is spot on. Turini wheels in grey or black would suit this though as I've never been a fan of those wheels you currently have on it - they remind me of the a team dynamics wheel from the 1990s?

They look like the early (Phase 1?) RenaultSport wheels without centre caps.

I think the RS500 reference is to the satin finish current focus, ad opposed to the iconic Sierra..

Disappointing thread - thought it was going to be a Sierra RS500.

rs500 esque ref is to paint sorry for misleading some of you,i knew from the start of this project it would be a love it or hate it look , as it happens i neither love it or hate it ,i am not particularly fond of any particular make of car at all ,all cars are is a means to an end to get around its what they were invented for origionally not for posing in or racing ,these later 2 are simply by products .all a car is to me is a tool for the purpose it could be anything as long as it corners ,brakes and accelerates well ,all im after is the thrill if youve never been on track the rush is awesome.so with this said i know its a bit heavy going(sorry) . to answer a few queries thesunstrip exists from when the car was silver (may change color anyway) its that deep because the cobra suzuka s seat is only 2 inchs of the floor ,so you dont bang your helmet on the roll cage and to keep centre of gravity low in car this aids handling (study touring cars ) try driving acar with a roll cage in with no sun visors, sunglass and a peaked helmet alone will not keep the sun out of your eyes ,bonnett vents are there to get rid of heat try running an engine aT 7000 RPM constantly, heat needs to be managed ,all the negative comments about this car are purely aesthetically based ,this car was built and is used regularly for purpose rather than pose so everthing is there for a reason wether it looks good or not ,thanks for all your comments ,constructive critisism is always good ,its abit of a marmite car really you either love it or hate it regards trackracer
will put some more photos on soon

I can not believe that you are using the RS500 Focus as a reference lol, there are many cars with this paint scheme but seriously RS500.

Other than that I think Clios are ghey but they are very good cars and this one looks very good.
