Thought I would post up a couple of shots that Andy (Andwhynot) did of my car the other night. I got the car about a week ago and always like Andy to do a few shots as I am a great believer in having some nice photos of every car I own (even if it is a diesel Mondeo!!!). One day when I am old I will get them all out to show my grandchildren!! He has shot most of my previous cars but I think these are some of his best. Worth every penny in my opinion.
For info its a 2005 Mondeo Tdci ST, not quite a Subaru STI but having just bought a house its all about MPG these days!!

' You know I am just about to chip in for one of these in the next 4-5 months. Tell me they are good!!??, I am hoping for the perfect compromise! I have done my research, but have current owners got that bond? That affinity!!??
Its a Civic Type R (which i love for the exclusivity of 8400rpm) and a Seat Arosa slush box (which is a 1.4 and does 22 mpg and i have actually fallen out of the drivers seat whilst cornering!!! ) being swapped for a top spec diesel mondeo and a classic mini.....
Looks flippin excellent in photos!

I tried to persuade my dad to get one of these for work, but oh no he didn't listen and went out and bought a Zetec S TDCI van. Subsequently he sold it 6 months later because the suspension was too hard and it didnt have enough toys..... what a wally :P
I love the idea of having an ST Mundano, V6 mind but the fuel economy makes me hesitate. These are a good compromise, With a remap I presume midrange will be very satisfying.

Thanks for the kind comment, it does go a long way to help me getting over the fact i'm getting old and sensible!!
Having not had the car for long it hard to make a valued judgement on it but so far i'm very impressed. I chose the car because it ticked all the boxes for me in terms of price, looks, running costs, spec, size etc etc. I paid £6100 for the car with 62k on the clock. It has a couple of options such as the upgraded heated Recaro seats and xenon headlights. To be honest it feels like a lot more that 6 grands worth of car.
I would say the performance is adequate having owned a couple of quick'ish' cars now. Day to day its ideal and in sixth on the motorway it is very comfortable. On the back roads it lacks slightly but again is fine based on what it is. The handling is fantastic and very focused for such a big car. The only criticism is that its a fairly hard ride but thats fine with me just maybe not everyones cup of tea. I have got through 2 tanks of Vpower diesel so far. It costs £64 to fill up and I have been getting 430miles to a tanks which is not bad as I have been testing it out a bit!!
Overall very pleased, the best bit is there are no creaks, rattles or other annoying noises as I cannot stand it when a car does that. It just needs the wheels refurbed back to the original Ford ultra silver finish rather than the dull grey they have been done in currently but the previous owner and it will be sorted.
As for the high res photos, I have spoken to Andy and he is going to post one up so people can copy it if they want it.

VERY NICE Ive got the newer renamed diesel ST (titanium X sport) was very surprised myself when I got it as to how it handles I did find it wanted to understeer on fast corners with the big lump upfront and that I got through a set of hoops in 12k miles but other than that its fantastic hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine
