Been browsing this site for a few years now, love it and the cars on here. Im 18, currently at uni so my car history isnt exciting yet.
I have had these two cars as presents, one for when i passed, then the next for my 18th 11 months later.
Obviously some people seem to be funny as i havent personally been out and bought them, and they have split views. Some say spoilt others say lucky. I am lucky enough to get 'spoilt', but fully appreciate it and do/did work to fund my cars ( i had money saved for a first car - although not got a job at present as moved to uni)

I currently only use my car for the weekly shop and drive home and try to keep them as clean as possibly. Not bothered to do any 'mods' as it is pointless on these two, and im not fussed about looks more performance biggrin.

First car, 1998 Peugeot 106 zest3 which meant luxury if thats what you want to call it as it had PAS, electric windows, drivers airbag, colour coded bumpers, rev counter and others bits i think :S. It was a nippy little car which i really enjoyed driving, body roll was an issue and turning it into a tripod was easily achieved.(and no i dont mean driving through streets and city centres) The car was very clean for itss age with just 60,000 miles on it.

After a wash and polish.

Only mod to the car other than the pressed plates were some series 1 xsi alloys, which my dad refurbed. And 4 new proxy CF1 tyres put on them.

only pics i have with the alloys on, sorry for the poor phone pics smile

Currently driving this renault clio 1.2 16v dynamique which is a nice step up, feels more solid, few more extras like electric mirrors, multi functional steering wheel etc. Nice little car for my commute.
this is the only picture i have at the moment will have to take some when its day light and cleaned.

this pictures was on the top of the hills near huddersfield, i was in a convoy whcih included, a Ford Ranger, Discovry V8, Range Rover sport and i think there was a defender at the back, was quite humourous as i was in the little clio but it has been quite capable in the snow with its new tyres smile
.

Luckily i am a named driver on my step mums car which is a VW EOS individual so i get the chance to drive this when home form uni. Really nice car and quite a step up from the older eos she had (this one has seemed not to leak) better dash, accesories etc.

after i had give it a wash and polish.

Oh almost forgot, when i was 15 i also had a mini city 998cc with a flooded engine, which i stripped and this is how its stayed till getting scrapped (too rotten)

Sorry for the poor quality pics. Thanks for reading hope havent bored you too much (if you have got this far)
cheers Ash.

Welcome! I'm the same age as you and you've already had two more cars than me. Are you planning on getting a new car once you have finished uni?

hi james thanks, i would like a new one now really since starting uni but obviously funds dont allow. I have a friend at uni who is 20 with a rover 25 with a 1.8 turbo running around 240-60bhp which has made me want a new one. it is a seriously quick car and every time i go in it makes me want a turbo ( would quike like a nova turbo or something, chavvy i know lol) been browsing the classifieds looking at clio sports, would like a 172/182 after this clio ( my uncle had a 182 with cup pack, now has a 197 f1 which he has done a few trackdays in , very capable cars in standard form) but obviously im in cook ooo land thinking i could afford to run one of them. would like a 106 again but would have to be in gti form lol, and ive looked at vts saxos which seem to be considerably cheaper than a gti, so will try and get a job to allow me to get one of those. gti or vts im not fussed lol chav car or not, i want to start doing some track days, nearly did oulton in december but dont think the clio is capable even though its mechanically sound didnt fancy it lol. ALso the roads back from uni are all country ones so would nice to have something to drive them in, dont get me wrong i enjoy the clio but want soething with a bit of sportiness lol.
How about you? looking at changing anytime soon?

cheers ash

Again I'd love to change early next year but don't think I will be able to afford it, so sadly might have to wait 3 years until i finish uni and try and get a really nice, quick car.

I've been told by a guy that my engine in my C2 is capable of 240hp but I don't know how long the block will last.

Im not far behind you, Ill be getting my Provisional the end of January. Can't wait biggrin
I bought myself a Puma and am in the process of restoring an Opel Kadett C.

Pitty about the Mini being rotten, why don't you buy a shell and put in the good parts ? Would make a nice toy.

Hi Lucie, Not getting my provisional untill the end of January. I bought it with a fecked engine, so sourced a low milage unit from a breakers and me and my Dad fitted it in a day.

Its not going to be a Chav Chariot just a few bits, I bought a set of Cosworth Lattice alloys for it, SS BackBox and going to wrap the silver dash fascia in Carbon Fibre and a New Headunit thats it. thumbup

Only driven it around the yard so far but I love it and it will not be sold, when its time to move on it will be retired to the garage as a week-end car (Possible futher classic).

Im dreading insurance to be honest, but my father has a Garage Insurance Policy so I will be added to that hopefully. All legally and no fronting.

Cheers.

ETA Sorry for the thread hike OP. smile

Couldn't help butting in, I got added to my dad's trade insurance policy when I passed in September. Great policy and wouldn't change anything about it, so much easier being able to pick up and drop off customers' cars! I was made to pay the price for me being added, but unusually it's still turned out much cheaper than alot of my friends. And in working hours I can drive anything, but after hours i'm strictly limited to my Fiat Punto for social, domestic and pleasure use. Again, sorry for thread hike OP, nice couple of cars you've got/had there. Shame about the mini!

Hi, My Dad doesn't actually own a garage (As in Public dealership), he has Garage Insurance because he owns about 15 different classics and its easier to have a garage policy to cover everything.

I really hope it won't cost too much for me to be added, because if I can't I won't be able to get a policy on my Kadett C untill im 25 here in Ireland. So fingers crossed, it will be nice to have the Puma as the week day car and the Kadett as a toy for going to car shos on the weekends.

The Kadett is a shell at the moment (The way I bought it) but everthing is there for it and I bought a doner car to convert it to a Manual gearbox. I will start a thread at the start of summer when the ork begins.

Cheers.
