Defender V8 project
Discussion
Erm, it had been lived in by a colony of squirrels for 8 years, there were 4 boxes of tool from my step-dad, none sorted, and about 10,000 acorns/hazelnut shells filling up all the gaps. it could be anywhere. At least I know what to look for now. Didn't want to prize them off without knowing what was underneath...

Yeah the nuts I've had like that came with a little yellow plastic tool, so it should hopefully stand out amongst the acorns No harm in prizing the caps off though, I trust you won't be wanting to keep locking wheel nuts on it anyway?! People only steal really expensive wheels nowadays.Windymiller said:

Bookmarked & watching with interest as I aim to do my V8 next year.
(the top of my bulkhead by the door hinges is even worse than yours!!)
The combination of something as cool as a Defender and 3-spokes (iven if they are LR OEM) makes me cry inside.(the top of my bulkhead by the door hinges is even worse than yours!!)

They look better in the flesh, but I agree they are not ideal , the other 16" 5 spokes I've got have "proper knobbly tyres".

I bought a landrover magazine yesterday after reading this thread, am I being silly?
no you aint i thought that years ago ive ad seven of them now vehicles that is and got 4 years subscription worth L.R.O magazine go for it and lots of fun in the mudIt has been along time coming but I now have a small update.
My 90 is now sitting in my garage with all the bodywork off the vehicle. I am now looking into the fun part which is the shopping list. First of all I am concentrating on getting a rolling chassis. My list so far is;
Richards Galvanised Chassis
Bilstein uprated shock absorbers
Standard OEM springs
Poly-bush Red bush kit
Bilstein Steering damper
Zinc bolts
Copper brake lines
Disco rear axle with rear discs
New discs and pads all round
ZU Wheels
Any comments on these upgraded parts or anything else that I have overlooked would be appreciated.
I also need some advice with the best way of adding power steering to the 90 and what vehicle is best to use parts from.
