Erm, it had been lived in by a colony of squirrels for 8 years, there were 4 boxes of tool from my step-dad, none sorted, and about 10,000 acorns/hazelnut shells filling up all the gaps. biggrin it could be anywhere. At least I know what to look for now. Didn't want to prize them off without knowing what was underneath...

Yeah the nuts I've had like that came with a little yellow plastic tool, so it should hopefully stand out amongst the acorns hehe No harm in prizing the caps off though, I trust you won't be wanting to keep locking wheel nuts on it anyway?! People only steal really expensive wheels nowadays.

The combination of something as cool as a Defender and 3-spokes (iven if they are LR OEM) makes me cry inside.

+1. Low profile tyres and Freelander tri-spoke alloys on Defenders don't go IMHO. But each to their own wink

Do they have the 24 spline drive shafts?
All discovery series 1 and 2 had 24 spline diffs and half shafts

All range rover classic from 1994 on had 24 spline

Land Rover 18" Triple sports wink . I wouldn't call the tyres low profile though, they come straight off a standard late 90s Range Rover.

They look better in the flesh, but I agree they are not ideal getmecoat , the other 16" 5 spokes I've got have "proper knobbly tyres".

After doing a bit of digging it seems you are right... early disco's are 10 spline, however there are 24 spline 200 tdi's as I have 2 of them sitting my garden right now.

Don't know to be honest.

I have always been under the impression that they where only on the later cars.

I managed to spend some time on the Landy today. I removed the rear door, headlining, roof and sides. Here are some pics;

Progress is slow but I will get there. Next up is the removal of the rear tub and seat box.

It has been along time coming but I now have a small update.

My 90 is now sitting in my garage with all the bodywork off the vehicle. I am now looking into the fun part which is the shopping list. First of all I am concentrating on getting a rolling chassis. My list so far is;

Richards Galvanised Chassis
Bilstein uprated shock absorbers
Standard OEM springs
Poly-bush Red bush kit
Bilstein Steering damper
Zinc bolts
Copper brake lines
Disco rear axle with rear discs
New discs and pads all round
ZU Wheels

Any comments on these upgraded parts or anything else that I have overlooked would be appreciated.

I also need some advice with the best way of adding power steering to the 90 and what vehicle is best to use parts from.
