Some of you would of already seen this as another member here must of seen it on Photobucket and posted images already.

Got it almost a year ago today. Covered 30k and its been faultless so far.

In the cabin its a similar size to the A3 and A4's that I have driven but the boot is cavernous. 60 odd litres bigger than the A8 and 5 Series.

Its quick and quiet, although not as quiet as a BMW soot chucker.

The only mods so far are colour coded grill, LED replacement interior lights and recently gloss black wing mirrors. Mods to come: Black Grill Surround, Parking Sensors and maybe a remap.

Some pics:

chrome grill

white grill

wonderfull snow foam

black mirrors

Interior:

And my outgoing A3 Sportback Sport 170 PD with my new vRS:

There's a lot of Skodas appearing on these pages recently.

Got to say, I'm enjoying them all.

I'd love a Fabia VRS.

I love the new vRS cloud9, very nice and love the grill mods people are doing although not sold on the black mirrors with white.

Edit:

How are you finding the CR vs the PD?, I drove a 2.0 PD140 a while back and felt it lacked the torque my 1.9 PD130 has, it drove a bit more like a petrol in terms of usable rev range though.

I like it and I'll be interested to see how it looks with a black grille surround.

The seats I'm not sold on though, there are too many different colours and materials making them a bit busy.

Thank you, I liked the old one but the SWMBO had a bit of badge snobbery then so got the Audi, this time round the fact it was bigger and was £4k cheaper swayed it a bit. What other soot chucking saloon/hatches are available at £16.7k? not many good ones i can tell you. smile

The new Furby vRS looks great and its a cracking engine and gearbox despite some issues with DSG. Driven a Golf 1.4 TSI with dsg - amazing. the sound of the supercharger is great.

The CR is much better than the PD - its marginally not as punchy as the PD but fuel economy is so much, much better now. 37mpg vs 55mpg. The power is more linear than the PD which seems to run out of steam very quickly. Its a lot quieter as well, which never bothered me before as music was always on. Like the PD first and second will wheelspin in wet and dry so there's aplenty of torques. smile

I was initially dubious of the seats as well, but they are great, mesh near the sweaty bits, leather on the sides and alcantara at the front of the base and at the shoulders. Seems to the best of all worlds especially when wearing shorts during the 3 days we have blistering sunshine.

Cheers, just waiting for some dryer weather to get the grille surround done (again).

This thread and the one about the blue VRS just prove that the grille surround should be body coloured on the sporty model.

I loved the vRS when i drove it, but was put off by the 'big chrome'.

Now i know what it looks like (in blue specifically), it has jumped to the top of my list again.

That too, it just looks so much nicer than the big lump of shiney chrome slapped on the front.

I've also got the CR vRS in candy white - am really pleased with it. Had a race blue MY07 one before that - was fine until it was 8 weeks out of warranty and it started to self-destruct, but so far so good with this one...fingers crossed :-)

Thank you. it does get a fair few looks when out and about, and doing 70 on the motorway is fun too, people wrongly assume plod.

Very nice

Here is a dyno sheet showing my PD 170 Octy VRS (198hp/283ft lbs) (VS) my 170 CR Superb (200hp/268ft lbs) you can see how much smoother the CR engine is
