Some background before I get to the pics! My brother sam was an amazing person, I'm not just saying that cos he's my brother, anyone who knew him would say the same thing. He had a wicked sense of humour, was caring, kind and selfless. He played a vital part in getting my business off the ground,
often working for literally nothing because we had no money for staff, he
was just happy to be helping out his big
brother and working on cars at the same
time! (the business is a
tyre/exhaust/service centre). He
eventually worked full time for us as the
business grew and we could afford to
take on staff, he also attended college
and completed his vehicle repair
qualifications. He loved cars, and one of
my fondest memories if him was his
face on Christmas day 2008 when we handed him the keys to his first car, a 1.2 Renault Clio! After gaining a years driving experience he sold the Clio and bought a 1.6 corsa (the pics are on thier way, I promise) in January 2010, this was his first 'proper car' and it was his pride and joy, it was always his intention to one day put a red top engine in it, but he wasn't your typical boy racer and understood the importance of having some more driving experience under his belt before he did this, he also wanted the car to be as safe as possible so the first 'mods' he carried out when he got the car were to put the best quality Tyres he could afford on, and replace all the brakes and brake hoses with quality parts! Sadly, he will never get the chance to fit his red top engine, as whilst out celebrating his 20th birthday on 09/10/10, after hitting the town, he and some friends attended a rave being held locally. It wasn't one of those illegal type things, it was properly organised, ticketed, had a licensed bar and door staff etc, anyway, it was here that it appears he took an illegal substance which ultimately cost him his life, and he died at 10am, on 10/10/10. Although I'm sure this wasn't the first time he had taken drugs, (i was no angel at his age), he wasn't some sort of addict or junkie, he just liked to have a good time with his friends! So in his memory, myself and his friends and family are going to get his car up to the spec he dreamt of, with the plan being to try and show it this summer, and organise some car runs etc, not just to keep his memory alive, but to also raise some money for the childrens hospice southwest, who we made collections for at his funeral.
Some pics...

Hopefully over the next couple of months I will have some updates to post up as we get the conversion done, I'm hoping to pick up an engine in the next week or 2, also if anyone has done a c20xe conversion I'm open to any tips or guidance you could pass on! And if anyone would be interested in attending a run in Cornwall let me know and I'll try to work out some dates! Before I sign off, I need to say a massive thankyou to Paul and Andy at spray-tech in Penryn, who kindly sorted out some of the paint work on the car at no charge, top blokes!

Fantastic idea, I'm sure he'd love what you are planning on doing.

It reminds me of the 4UDrew Silvia S15, a 19 year old was killed in a motorcross accident, so his friends and family built an S15 in his memory and take it to shows, raising money for charity etc.

The bonnet will be staying for the time being, sam loved the way the car looked so I don't really want to change it! Although it's going into the sign shop next week to have some graphic done, I won't say what it's having done I'll post some more pics up at the time!

It is desperately sad and unlucky for your brother to have died and you have my great sympathy. Completing his dream car is a wonderful way to remember him. He would have wanted this.

Respects for what you're doing, very admirable indeed. On a lighter note, that Corsa with a redtop in it should shift a bit! clap
