Speedline Alessio 2s I think. Also is it a genuine GSi? Or the bumpers skirts etc on a lesser model?

It's a genuine GSI, the engine will be up for sale when we remove it if anyones interested, 90k on the clock and is sweet as a nut

Wow, just standard GSi's are worth alot more than Redtops, but understanding the motive behind the project, Good Luck with it. Redtops are a hoot!

As I've put on this forum, I nearly lost my younger bro last year, so this thread rsonates with me.

Truly sorry for your loss, don't know how I'd have dealt with such circumstances.

Fully understand that, although the aesthetics are not going to be to everyones taste, the rationale overrides opinion.

I'm nowhere near you geographically, and I was lucky enough that my bro made it through (different circumstances, but no real difference in effect), but I would very much like to make clear that anything I could do to help, in whatever way, shape or form, just shout, and I'm there for you and yours..... Equally, I'm sure my mum and family would offer the same if it's of more practical use...

In my experience, this place is unique in the level of understanding and support provided and offered - PH was a massive help to me and mine, and if I can in any way assist in paying that back, I'll do whatever I am capable of.

Good luck with the project, and seriously, feel free to call on me publically or through PM and I'm there.

Yours,

Sam (further resonance there, I can see)

Evening all, not much progress with sam's car yet, although I dropped the gearbox into a specialist to be looked at as the guy we bought the engine and gearbox from described a whining noise in 5th gear, turns out 5th gear is slightly worn, probably because the box has been run low on oil. Gearbox place are struggling to locate parts for it, does anyone know where I get parts for a F16 gearbox? It came from an astra gte so I'm told! Thanks in advance for any help offered!

I've finally started on the corsa! Took the old engine out this evening, only finished about 30 minutes ago and didn't have my camera handy so had to make do with some crappy phone camera pics, although there is not much to see yet but the aim is now to really crack on and get the new engine in

Finally a little bit of progress! The new engine is painted and we have bolted the gear box to it, massive thanks to the gear box and clutch centre in Falmouth for giving the box the once over! Here's the engine ready to go in once we have figured out the wiring!

What a sad way to have gone...

All the best with your plans for his car and raising money for charity! Red top and not much weight = much fun!

Let me know when this is and I will try and get the corsa involved, (if it's ready)! See if we can raise some more dough for CHSW!
