My Ford Focus ST.....
Discussion
Just for info seeing as you think you know me so well - I am not interested in bragging rights down the pub as I dont normally go to the pub (dont drink) I spend most time either at home with the girlfriend or at work in the garage. Not interested in bragging rights and if I was I would use the 340bhp I achieved on the rollers.
Yes I am young - 22 infact and work extremely hard to make sure have got cash to develop the ST where others mock, it makes me laugh if nothing else at some comments.
I want to push the boundaries of power levels in ST's and if engine goes pop then I will replace it - 400bhp/400Ib/ft will be achieved and think I will leave it at that - look at the RS they are starting top 500bhp now and are going strong.
Suggest you look into RR more - you want a 1:1 ratio in order to get the most accurate reading
Here is a little snippet for you from AET Turbos;
'1st we select the nearest gear to a 1:1 ratio as possible.
For most manual cars the top gear is an overdrive gear and thus the previous one is normally the 1:1 drive (so 5th for a 6 speed and 3rd for a 4 speed).
For auto's it is normal to hold them in Drive "D". Most makes of auto are difficult and power runs are hard to perform as they keep changing gear.'
If you had a car with 7 gears you would run it in 6th not 4th so 4th isnt a universal rolling road gear.
Anyway thanks for the comments from the others

Agreed. Charlie's honest and not afraid to disappoint if your car isn't making the numbers you think it should. I'd rather that than be fooled into thinking my car was a weapon just to keep an ego bolstered.
To be fair to Jared at Dreamscience, my car pulled pretty much identical numbers on their rollers too - also a Dyno Dynamics - so I'd trust cars run at DS HQ.

After having some discussion with Funk and a few experts and checked on ratios and found my RR operator to be completely wrong meaning I have a worthless power graph am going to get it booked into Dreamscience for a RR.
Like I say am not chasing figures and not going to defend the 334bhp until I know whats what - cant say fairer than that.
If anyone has been reading my build thread on other forums they will see I expected 315-320bhp from the current mods.
Cheers for all participants in the debate.
To answer other posts;
Car is rocking standard diff and clutch - clutch is dying now though so getting RS clutch and Quaife ATB. The RS diff doesnt fit - different number of splines if I remember rightly.
By being careful with the launches I managed to get some good times on the 0-60 strips and have actually rsn 2 5.7's to 60. All it takes is a careful launch lmao.
