Nice little car, they're supposed to be really good cars arn't they - wouldn't mind a go after testing a Swift Sport.

As an aside i was walking up Cheddar Gorge today with the girlfriend (guy in a Berghaus fleece, missus in a white coat) and I think I saw you! How random is that!?

Also saw 3 Peugeot 106 GTIs on their way up too. Personally I was just happy to average over 34mpg on the way there and back from Bristol, which was the highlight of my motoring day.

Cheers,
Rob

yeh its a great little car really revvy almost like a vtec when you get going. handles great to not much body roll love taking it up the gorge. ha.

i am the other way round i wouldnt mind a go in a swift sport as i have heard mixed reviews about the two.

yeh that would have been me earlier as i went to the shell garage to top up.

yeh i saw a yellow 106 gti as i left the top of the gorge i dont remeber seeing anyone with your description though. ha

thats not a bad fuel consumption what were you driving?

cheers
dave

to be honest i have not had it on a long run yet really most of my driving is around town or on twisty roads but when driven economicaly i would say i am getting about 35 around that mark maybe a bit less 33 34 but around that.

i have filled up today so i will keep watch and record what i do with a tank and on a run etc and let you know as it wouls be interesting to know acuratly myself.

but i will say for the money they are a great car and surprising how roomy they are for the size.

was it yellow black and blue 106s? I know the owner of the black rallye, seen his photos earlier!

I really like these ignis, always wanted to try one, what sort of power to weight are they?

I swapped mine for my Impreza and still miss it. Great fun on a twisty road. Yours looks lowered a touch (Suzuki Sport did a lowering kit when the car was new) but it may just be the photos. They are really very different to the Swift Sport which is a far more refined package.

They are actually reasonably quick cars - 950kg and around 110hp. The Sport has a close ratio gearbox and IIRC had it's own engine tune compared to the rest of the range (higher compression ratio and mapped for super unleaded). As said above the power delivery is great, with a noticable kick from 4000rpm. The brakes are uprated to discs all round, it's got a suspension and exhaust developed by Suzuki Sport and it's pretty acceptable inside too, with Recaro seats and uprated dials.

What else? Cheap to tax and well over 30mpg in town if you behave. They are pretty easy to look after too - I used to buy OEM service kits from Suzuki Shop (Google it) and oil from Opie Oils or equivilant and never had a problem doing the work myself. Never let me down either.

If your bored have a look on Youtube for some videos - the car also comes under the name HT81S which can help you get a lot more info. There are a lot of thrashed and abused ones about - find an original one or one that's clearly had an enthusiastic owner and they are a good buy.

yeh its a brilliant little car as you said on twisty roads its great like a little go kart. no its not been lowered mate completely standard and think i am gonna keep it that way as it just right the way it is.

yeh its about 3500 4000 it kick and suddenly goes and for its class i thinks its one of the quickest in the 1.5/1.6 class of cars. i have heard mixed opinions on the swift but would like a go myself to really see the difference.

yeh easy to look after everything is easy to get to and easy to change/fix.

yeh i was lucky to find a standard non abused one for a good price but as you say there are many people who have thrashed them and changed bits and sold the standard bit etc this is why i am keeping mine standard when you have a good car standard i dont see the point messing with it and to be honest the exhaust gives quite a good note standard.
there are some good videos though i have been watching them.
