Nice VXR!
Okay this is probably a silly idea - not very PH "friendly" cars (both diesel for a start) but some might like them:
Recent purchase - late 07 110XS with a few extras:
And had this for over a year and it's primary "mission" is to be an unmodded sleeper - 335d, terra leather, sunroof, blah blah blah. Ignore the Jimny next to it - sold for the Defender.

That gets a 9.9 from me – it would probably be a full fat 10 if I could hear it!
I like Landies too so it would be a 7.5 for a diesel and 8 for a V8 - a damn sight better than what the Jimny would get!
Jimny was a stop gap car for wife and actually did pretty well. Extremely good off road and in snow (light, proper low ratio box option) reliable, easy to park, cheap so didn't give a cr4p about it, etc. Not a great image but actually a decentish motor - but dismal on long journeys and wierdly, pants on fuel.I like Landies too so it would be a 7.5 for a diesel and 8 for a V8 - a damn sight better than what the Jimny would get!
LR is much more grown up but sadly the last V8 was made in about 1998 (a 40th Anniversay version). I did look at a few but wanted a newish model. Ours had a slightly comical 4 pot 2.4 TDCi engine (as do all current Defenders) which is more or less a Transit engine and only puts out 122bhp/266lbs-ft but I did manage to tow a stricken (handbrake left off, ploughed through a hedge, off a small ledge into a tree) Audi A3 a few weeks ago - dragged it up a 1 in 3 hill over the little ridge. Not bad although the clutch reeked for a little while. A3 wasn't a pretty sight afterwards.
