Perhaps if the internet had existed 50 years ago when you built your car, some throbber would have criticised you for not doing it as quickly as he wanted.watch word.
If you're bored maybe read one of the OPs other threads about his cars, like his incredible Ferraris (yes, two of them).
I'll even give you a link to save you going looking:

There's also an M3 and Golf thread if you're interested. He's under no obligation to share any of this but he does and many of us enjoy it very much.

There has been progress. In July where the bottom end was worked on.
Admirable past working on the cars you did back in the day when modifying cars was more of a lifestyle and religion than now perhaps? There was much much more effort needed and people got their hands dirty.
I dare say that the modifying of today is done by handing over huge cash and then collecting a quick car.
Not with mstewarts builds though. You cannot deny the detail that has gone into retrofitting stuff down to researching to the nth degree every possible detail and it all coming together to make a better than factory solution
Have you read his ferrari thread?

I was not seeking attention I merely asked if the Fiesta had been built and of course I was
a bit miffed when no progress had been made for years. I did not expect ttish remarks
from some of you - I would have expected "no not yet" or perhaps a post from mstuart
with the state of play may have been forth coming. And for the dipstick who said get off my
arse and start my own project - done it son- years ago -Ford Zephyr six engine into a 15cwt van replacing a 1700cc engine with a 2.3 - a whole a lot of work- took about 3 months that was
in 1970/1 when customising was really popular and no substitute for cubic inches was the
watch word. All before fuel injection and re-mapping,computers and mobile phones. I
used to take my boys up to Olympia and Ally Pally for the custom car shows. A lot of us got
our inspiration from a popular magazine at that time called Hot Car , I still have all copies
but nothing lasts forever- the mag started catering for others perhaps with a bigger budget
and renamed it Performance Car. End of an era.

I like the idea of building retro cars with electric power.
I'm converting my 1988 Panda to electric as soon as. All this ULEZ stuff and petrol being £1.30 a liter is getting beyond the joke. ATM said:

On a road trip a few years ago we were in Italy staying at an agriturismo with an access road that I'd pre-determined with the help of Google maps as being a nice gravel track. It wasn't. We arrived late one night in the 430 and had in given up half way along after lots of swearing and nearly beaching it a few times, and had resigned to sleeping in it when the owners appeared out of the dark in an early Panda. I have driven off-road/4x4 in the past but the way that little (FWD!) thing coped with the significant ruts and appalling surfaces was genuinely impressive.
The owners kindly gave us use of this farm Panda for a week so that we could park the 430 somewhere accessible. It was really a worn out old tin can - an absolute shed with holes in the seats, and gearbox return springs long gone which meant finding a gear was s bit of pot luck, but the simplicity of the thing and its go-anywhere ability - much like an old French car - meant that it was a very loveable little thing.
After driving it off road each day for a week or so I came back from the trip really wanting a nice Panda 4x4! I looked around but even then they were like hens teeth, so I gave up.
Probably a good thing really as that would have turned into another project - imagine a Hartley V8 in an otherwise standard looking car.

Relatively good Panda here with minimal to no rust visible and seats are not even ripped or stained and in interesting colour for 1500.

Ha ha that's mad. I bet its fun! It's not the right time for another project but ATM's post had me browing eBay for a 4x4, and it seems that they are out there!
You dont need a 4x4. The vanilla fwd car is fine. You said this yourself. That's the nicest looking crank since the Stratos Buso build.
mwstewart]Ian is back from holiday and now has the balanced rotating assembly back with him. The pistons and rods were done at the same time but aren't photographed. said:
Ian will now reassemble the engine and I can start to decide on a turbo and manifold.
Wow, Ian Howell, now there is a name from the past! He was around on the Fiesta scene when I had my Fiesta RS Turbo back in 1996/7, Ford Fair every year etc etcSlowly but surely; the next stage is a custom oil system to bypass the standard oil pump that has a propensity to shatter its gears.
I have a decision to make for turbo choice; today I spoke with Ian who thinks that this is a 700bhp capable engine, which is impressive, but I see endless drive train problems with that kind of power and torque so I'll have to reign it in a bit!

I was all set to get angry after this was bumped by someone else asking for an update. Thanks man.
700 to the front wheels will be hilarious. Do it
It would be funny. I'm going for gear-mapped boost so the full power wouldn't be available until 5th gear 700 to the front wheels will be hilarious. Do it
470bhp in a Mk3 Fiesta sees 184 MPH at (I think) Bruntingthorpe https://www.fiestaturbo.com/feature-cars/luca-184m...
I'd like to crack 200 in this car - which would put it on-par with the 430.

My fiesta turbo "only" had 225BHP, but given the thing weighs approx 800KGs it was ballistic. I cannot fathom how fast yours is going to feel.470bhp in a Mk3 Fiesta sees 184 MPH at (I think) Bruntingthorpe https://www.fiestaturbo.com/feature-cars/luca-184m...

I do however remember that anything over 120mph was terrifying, as it felt like the car was starting to generate lift at that speed. 200mph is next level insane.
