Can't speak for the OP but most people do it as a Novated Lease. Basically, the majority of the cost of the Lease is taken out of your pre-tax income. This then reduces your taxable income. The more miles you drive the cheaper it is. The lease repayments include servicing, rego, insurance, petrol etc etc
For me, I have a lease on a 55kAUD car. For all the above, it is only around 130 quid out of my own pocket a fortnight as the vast majority is taken out of pre-tax income. Works better if you are a higher tax payer though.
You can pick any car you want basically.

Seriously it genuinely looks different anda class/size above when parked next to a Mondeo. To give some reference the wheels on mine are 19" and it still looks underwheeled. It's quite a big car.
The interior also feels way above a Titanium Mondeo due to leather, 8/12 speaker set up (with built in sub in rear centre seat), interior lighting etc. I had a 530d M Sport on loan and it feels like that in terms of steering/big car feel.
Colonials right on the car tax thing. Tax heavy if not done right.
New here they're about $57k (£37k?) or 6 mths old about $40-45k (£25k) and then depreciation is quite stable.
There is a full sports version called an XR6 Turbo but it's quite basic inside in comparison. Same engine as mine but it has an LSD whereas mine doesn't.

Good choice. I've had a 2009 manual XR6 turbo and it was pretty damn quick, in straight lines and around corners. Like a modern day Sierra Cosworth on steroids. I absolutely loved it, and so did my wife, for a fast sports saloon car it made a great family car.
Why can't we have these in the UK? You have the fwd Mondeo and you are obviously happy with that.
Even the basic Falcon XT has about 270bhp, it's pretty nippy for a base model.

I really like this car, the OP took me and the other half out in it and honestly I could not think of anything that comes close for the money. Here in Aus you could get an entry level BMW 3 series for the same money...if you loaded up a 3 series to get leather and all the toys you would completely blow the budget and still be in a 320. A 5 series at entry level is beyond the cost of this car. Ford is earning a lot of well deserved praise on these.
As for the Falcon being released in the rest of the world....Long stories to go with that but the short of it is that the Falcon platform is unique to Australia, the car is unsupportable outside of Australia.
GM / Holden put plans in place a LONG LONG time a go for the Commodore platform to be the global RWD sedan platform and to use drivelines available the world over.
The sad thing is that this may well be the last of the big engined Falcons and might well be the last Falcon ever. Ford US do not really like the Falcon as it is not a global platform and is facing declining sales in favour of smaller cars with smaller engines, sales that Ford badly needs. Rumour is that the 6 cylinder engine is to be killed off in all but the FPV high performance models. The rest of the range will be a 4 cylinder turbo engine.....if the Falcon survives at all.
