I assume the MX-5 is a short nose but as Will says I doubt it will show itself after 20 years! Will be keeping an eye on it just in case though.
Understood. I chose a '93 Eunos Roadster in 2000 due to the potential issue. I thought the short-key issue was exacerbated with each cambelt change? But they are old+dim memories that I'm relying on.Hope the Summer justifies the spendage (have bought a targa myself)
Seems like a popular pairing
Just a little update.
Firstly I've started down the long & dangerouse (to my wallet!) road of modifications on the Mazda. I was offered a set of newly refurbed 15" MIM alloys & tyres at a bargain price so snapped them up. I also managed to secure a virtually brand new MX5 Parts S/S exhaust for 1/2 price from a very nice fella on MX-5 Nutz (he found it too loud). It is now sounding & looking much better although it does need lowering desperately!. The offset on the alloys is ET25 which causes the wheels to fill the arches a lot better, especially at the rear, and doesn't seem to have affected the handling negatively as far as I can feel.
The only pic I have of the current set-up I managed to grab at work one day last week.
Much to the annoyance of the Mrs I also managed to make time to give the Volvo a good clean & polish on Friday whilst everyone else watched the royal wedding. I've spent some time during the last week re-blacking the unpainted parts of the car & this has had a very big impact on the overall look of the car. Close up the finish on these is nowhere near good enough though & I will be re-doing it again as soon as possible. I did notice that the main thing that lets the car down closeup now is the wheels, they have been powder coated in the past & this has started to flake & bubble quite badly. I don't know whether to get them refurbed or get a set of aftermarket ones. Would like to keep it looking as standard as I can but they aren't in the best condition & sets of the Volans seem to go for good money whenever they pop up for sale. Decisions, decisions.
I managed to grab a few phone pics after I finished.
All being well I'll find time tomorrow to wash & polish the Mazda & get some better group shots
