After managing to kill my my first car, a vauxhall corsa, I needed some new wheels! Something cheap, easy to mantain. So I have got myself a 1600 twin port VW Beetle. Free road tax, £600 a year insurance (£1100 cheaper then a corsa yikes) so very happy!

Here is a dealer picture, I go and pick it up tomorrow. Its properly loud biggrin Much to my pleasure, not so my mum and dads hehe

Will post loads more when I get it home tomorrow. I am just ever so slightly excited and cant wait to get it home hehe

Thanks,
Matt

Indeed smile

As for how it drives, it goes pretty bloody well! But then I'm used to driving a 1.0 corsa.

Full report tomorrow evening!

Mi matt-
seen your little corsa around northwich and in London Rd carpark. Don't know if you know my brother Alex (final year at staffs doing photography, but did his first 2 years at london rd).

Liking the look of your beetle, those wheels really suit it.

'Ringo' is home biggrin And my god its awesome. So it does need a lot doing to it and its not exactly a minter buts its mine and I love it biggrin Driving it is ace, feels awesome. Love it!

Needs a lot doing to it but hey, its a rolling project smile

One of the jobs is to get standard windows in the front. Tint looks a lot harsher in pictures.

I think it's a hurst shifter - popular with unwashed VW types smile

Looks like the later IRS rear from the rear lights?

Thanks guys smile

The gear shifter is a quick shifter! Not quite used to it so getting it in gear is interesting....

As for the plans, just general smarten up, change the front windows to stock ones with traingle piece at front and generally make it as mint as possible. Won't be getting lowered though!

As for the rear lights I don't know why there off but I don't like them, think they look dirty and unwashed tongue out so some normal stock ones are on there way smile

Funky second car.

Not really a fan of the 1302/1303 era but this looks tidy enough and for a second car is pretty good... wheels certainly suite it well.

The rear lights were standard on the 1303 "super beetle", which I think yours is. The front windows might even be original too, but I'm not geeky enough to tell. The other that makes me think it's a 1303 s that the rear suspension isn't showing any camber - usually one wheel's on the piste on the swingaxle cars!

Will take a stand back and wait for a more geeky VW expert to confirm though.

Look's good mate run's one with a stripped out interior and a 1776cc engine only around 120bhp or so but fk me it shift's remember him keeping up with a new shape type r in term's of acceleration but of course it feel's a hell of a lot faster from that inside. Have fun smile
