2006 XK convertible
Discussion
Thought I would post some pictures of my new steed. I've only just got back from my drive in it, stunning evening with the roof down (this is my first convertible)
I will never get bored of that V8 too, fantastic sounding engine! from low revs and until the valves open. People just seem to like the car too, some wave, ask about the car, nod, a bit different from peoples reactions while I was in the 6 series. I enjoyed the drive so much I forgot to take any pictures.. here are some from the collection and one from behind at home.
I will certainly look forward to many drives this summer
When it first sunk in that she was mine
At home
I'm off for a drive with some mates tomorrow so I'll try and get some better pictures.

Very nice - I want one of these. Look extremely smart. How tight does it feel being a soft top? Do you think the coupe is noticeably tighter? I assume from your previous cars (GT-R, Focus RS, etc) that you like that sharp handling/speed. This must be quite a different feeling! Enjoy!
Thanks for the compliments
VPower, I think a name change may be in order
Wackojacko, they do sound fantastic on standard pipes, really didn't think it would be this loud to be honest. habve also found out its fuse 19 that keeps the exhaust valves open
Stuart-b, to be honest it feels very tight, more so than the 6 series before it. The aluminium does make it feel very light, no body role at all either. To me, it has a good balance of engine noise, handling and when you want to cruise it does it brilliantly. I have also been impressed with the insulation of the roof.
Diddly69, it is pretty cool to say that now I'll have to see what I can get away with now...
jsg612, Thanks, I really like the colour, it is a bluey silver, seems to bring out the shape of the colour, think Ian callum said it was his favourite for the car.
Slinem, Many thanks, it does look pretty different from the previous generation. I saw a few convertibles today on the drive, the owners gave a cheery wave too which was nice.
James.

Great! I was expecting it to feel a little wallowy but if you think it's better than the 6, fantastic.VPower, I think a name change may be in order

Also, agreed, I love silver as it is a smart, executive colour, (although I know it can also make cars look a little bland at times), so I think you are right, this is the perfect colour, with a touch of blue there. Great choice!
