993 Engine failures ?

The 993GT2 has a different bottom end though doesn't it? Wider bearing journals etc?

The 993 NA (vario or non vario) is known to throw cranks and rods..

I believe the 964 crank has wider journals which is why the GT3 crank was derived from this and not the 993 item. Well, this is what I've read.
