Tip: "D" and "4" flashing...

Hi all. The D and 4 light shave started flashing on my Tip readout (996 MY00 C4).

I know this means there is an error: Is this common? any way of telling what the problem is?

Re driving the car, it is in some sort of safe mode where it only uses 1-4 and with no manual override. Mechanically it sounds and feels fine... so may be some sort of blown sensor?

Anyone have any experience of this?

I think I read something about this in the hand book, have you checked ? I Left mine at 9M last week so can't check.

Yes this is an error report on the box. Gearbox status / condition is not part of the on board computer monitoring. So suggest you take no chances and go straight to dealer. Could be low fluid resevoir or any such issue... better safe than sorry and new box time at £3400 1
