The Porsche garage in Germany that's done some work on my car seems to have the little brother of yours sitting on the forecourt

Just spoke to the dealer......the car is fully prepared mechanically and is having a valet and getting the Zymol treatment this afternoon.

Only 21 hours to go!

The wait is nearly over. Am off to empty the chim of my gear, and check it over for the last time prior to departing early tomorrow morning.

Ben, yes am hoping to go to Cars in the Park II.

Yours fit to burst

Excellent choice of car Martin. I drove a 993 TT some years ago and loved it and that was a standard model ie without the 430 BHP engine upgrade and with the standard exhaust.

I bought a GT3 in Speed yellow earlier this year and this is an excellent colour for sports/performance Porkers. Not sure about the yellow interior though, I would have gone for black personally.

Hope you have a lot of fun with your new toy.

Been back about an hour after leaving at 8am this morning with the chim, and doing an extended route home from Newcastle in the 993 of 250 miles......should be about 110 miles

What can I say.......I didn't realise that this level of total hoonage was accessible to an average driver like me. The thing is totally, utterly, and completely mind blowing. The grip and composure is immense, and it inspires a lot of confidence even though I have only done so few miles in it.

I have learnt to keep the boot down through corners, I lifted slightly through a fast corner and the back waggled a bit.....hopefully lesson learnt.

Think I will have to keep myself disciplined and somewhat restrained in the Porker, or else I fear I'll get pulled at speeds resulting in more time inside than Gary Glitter.

Have been looking through the owners pack, and came across invoices for work carried out. It turns out it has a sports exhaust from Tech 9, though it doesn't say exactly what make / type....will contact them Monday to find out the craic. The car also has the Tech 9 cat conversion what ever that may be? I assume it means 100 cell race cats or something? I do know that the exhaust makes an obscene, very loud bellow when the turbos kick in.

Comparing it to the TVR; initially I thought the TVR feels faster, it does....but the 911 goes faster. On familiar roads where as from a standing start in the Tiv I would be doing 60 by a certain point, the Porker is going over 80 mph. The Porker seems to make a mockery of speed it seems. Though I must admit to being very, very sad to turn the Tiv off for the last time when I parked it up at the OPC this morning, hope she goes to a good home.

Sorry for the convoluted post, my head is still in bits after driving it home to be honest.

Best Regards

Martyn.

Thanks for the comments. Have recovered from yesterday after a good nights sleep.

Look forward to seeing your car UV, I had seen on the list that a Turbo 2 was coming and didn't know who's it was.

After a few Stella's last night , I must confess to opening the garage up and just sitting in the car and also stroking the bodywork....sad but true!

The exhaust is a Techart system. I laid down under the car in my Artois'd state and managed to find the Techart marking on a pipe. Will ring T9 tomorrow with the product code to ascertain what type it is.

All it is short of now is a PH sticker of some kind, will see to that ASAP Ted!

Best Regards

Great driving post martyn!

The only thing i would be worried about regarding the exhaust is that it may be too loud for track days. Ev ery track these days has some kind of idiotic dB level.

Great stuff, cant wait for the weekend!

Goon on yer, Mart. It sounds wonderful mate, roll on next Sunday. Hope the weather is as good as it is today, because its 24C and sunny here (about 20 mins from Brunters)

I'll raise a glass to you tonight with my dinner guests mate, glad the car is everything you thought it would be.

What can i say..MOD kindly poped down to mine yesterday and took me for a blast in the yellow beast..wow its some car.

It looks stunning in speed yellow with the bodykit and the interior complements it well.

As for performance, yikes...that thing is quick. It feels very composed over the less than perfect roads round me and when there is a bit of straight the noise and power from the turbos is stunning

The kids at the petrol station seemed to love it too. MOD was about to give them a kicking for calling him fat but then realised they were describing the car

I think it describes it perfectly, phat....

I'll get the photos and video over to you as quick as i can MOD,

Cheers, Rich

I didn't think OPC's dealt in 993's any more? How much did they extract from you for it?????

Martyn

I was at Newcastle OPC and saw your car at the dealership today - hope everything is ok with your new pride and joy. It looks absolutely superb! I testdrove the C2 and C4S and loved them both - probably go for a used C4S later this year.

Yes, she was loaded onto a flat-bed truck this morning....random warning lights were lighting up on the dash. I'd stop, turn the engine off, and everything would be back to normal. So sent it back for fettling.....though wasn't going to post the probs up till I knew what was up with her for sure. The 'check engine' light kept lighting up too; the OPC tech man thinks it could be a lambda (sp?) sensor breaking down?

The car has been parked up a fair while so I understand prior to me getting it, and I was thinking something might go wrong....and it did.

Had a great drive with Rich (Ruxpin) yesterday, the thing is a real savage. The problems stated above occurred on the way home

The Porker Assist help line did a great job; I phoned them at 9:30am and was waving the truck away before 11:30am.

Hope the car's spot at Brunters isn't jeopardised

Yours in hope
