This is the frustrating thing about Boxsters. The amount of car people I speak to who have an opinion about them but have never driven one really baffles me. It is enough for me to consider them to not be real car people. And by car people I mean a genuine car enthusiast who buys, drives and enjoys cars beyond them just being transport. The original Boxster is a real sweet spot. I've only ever driven 3 and they were all the 3.2s. The first one I ever drove was an experience day at Thruxton. I was amazed at how well the car turned in and gripped compared to the other cars there. It just felt so right out on track. I immediately said to the instructor guy after one or two bends wow this car is great. He said they are the best cars they have because they handle really well straight out of the box and they also deal with being driven round and round their track day in and day out with no problems. I decided there and then I wanted to buy one.

There may well have been a female involved in this decision in my experienceI remember a beautiful Maserati 3200 for sale a while back for £7500, great colour & spec, they are notoriously expensive to run & unreliable, reading the advert was like Triggers broom, every part of that car must have been replaced. I thought it looked pretty good but the bloke had put "selling as a requirement for keeping my wife"
Or maybe the poor bloke got disillusioned & had enough when the described issues arrived

It's the car I was asking about a few pages back that had some advisories for front lower wishbones and a damper on its last MOT. I expected some notable clunks and knocks but it all feels quite tight and had money spent on a new steering rack recently so drives quite nicely. No doubt it will need some attention at its next service due in March but overall better than I expected.
It needs a new roof latch switch as it's intermittent and the stereo only works if you eject a CD before turning on the ignition (?!) but apart from that it's quite tidy for 13 years and 90k miles. The AC needs regassing (or condensers...) but overall I'm really pleased with it, especially as it has extended leather and heated sports seats.
It's been a little unloved recently so needs a really good clean inside and out, a coat of wax and to see some regular use again. Seemingly a new benchmark has been set and I could have had seven 986s instead of this so may longer count as poverty pork!

Sounds like you need a new stereo for the car. AgreedGreat looking car that although those silver grills in the bumper could do with some touching up. I used to dislike Zenith but now I cant remember why.

Money transfer scams, get people to transfer over deposits or in some cases full payment, using elaborate lies about being out the country, need quick sale, brother will provide keys etc. I know it looks ridiculous to you and me but people fall for it all the time. Not true! I emailed them and they assured me it was genuine. They seemed very accommodating and there was no problem with me transferring all the full price of the car plus they offered to deliver it with a free tank of fuel once I paid the additional £250. They even spotted a problem with my computer once I emailed them so they offered to log in remotely and fix it! Good guys if you ask me...57Ford said:
