"The interior of the jeep is in very nice condition"https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/193265343656
Given the 1970s Volkswagen link with the 924, I have seen a few that have been converted to use the old 2.2 litre, 5 cylinder audi engine (I.E. from the 80, 90, 100 and Quattro).
That really is a characterful engine, and I imagine a lightweight 924S with the lovely warbly unusual engine would have been fantastic.
You can probably buy multiple 924s now for what it would cost to get hold of an engine though!
Not sure many inline 6's would fit either.

I agree - a V6 would also have been almost as good. A fine car deserves a proper soundtrack.
It was a car of its time and there was a market need for a more economical vehicle to buy and run - funny how that has gone full circle and today's entry level Porsche is back to (albeit a very different) 2.0 4 cylinder unit for the similar reasons reallyThere are quite a few 944S2s with added turbo goodness - the local Indy I use races one that bimbles along with about 500bhp in road tune and closer to 600bhp on the track.
As for 928s in this thread, any poverty 928 is going to take you to poverty as you get it sorted. They are magnificent and just about all parts are available, but they’re not cheap in any sense of the word.

If this was a RWD coupé. And closer to 15k...
Wonder what prompted the 3.7 conversion on that particular car. Would make sense if the engine required a rebuild, but it's an early 3.4 (very good), 4wd (meh), and a cab (not so good).

Just thought I'd use this opportunity to wish well to all at theis seasonal time of year
This seemed thee perfect thread to do it as Xmas is so commercial and driven by money and extravagant gestures these days, TV advertising and crap jumpers. Well what about the poor & needy in society. What better place to spare a thought for them that the poverty Pork thread where a decent sports car or occasionally an SUV is often discussed at a 90% discount from its new price. Merry Xmas all!

I'm thinking this looks value for money. The red stickers, red wheels and mirrors need to go, but once you're past that it seems like it's got some nice bits on it like the front brakes and exhaust. Strange there are 20 photos but no interior shots.
