Amended, thanks.

Wasn't the M97 3.2 carried over into the early 987?

If it's an M96 3,2 then yes.. Wasn't the early M97 3.2 an extra melty edition??

This is a bit of a poverty budget stretch but the mileage brings the value down nicely and with all the maintenance and history it's got to be a mechanically sound purchase for sure..... (it's mine) mwaha ha ha ....

Hello all,

.
Such a nice, modest, elegant car. Keep it!

If I were you, I would have the leather restored by a pro. Porsches need to look "clean", patina works better on Jags and (older) Bentleys.

Not going to comment on the bizarre thatched bungalow but the car is plain, nice and great.

I'm not going to comment about you making a comment whilst saying you are not making a comment.

I feel I must COMMENT car looks great, super mileage, car to keep. However don’t like the wheels. I sold a set off my 1st Boxster (X Reg 3.2S ) 10 years ago and put 18” Turbo Twist on the car. Two bidders were going nuts on eBay for the wheels ... were they a gt3 split rim thingy? Anyway bloody awful. yuck

Yes GT3 split rim. I would prefer the Turbo twisters you mentioned as well. The most timeless wheels Porsche has made.

The Turbo twist wheels I put on my Boxster were off a 996 I believe. I’m pretty sure I had to put 18mm spacers on the rears... but it looked the dogs danglies once done yes

By the way - on an early Boxster with amber lights 17" wheels look fine.

I cannot help seeing the 986 as the "friendliest" Porsche.

I’d be interested in knowing what’s plugged into the extension lead.... hopefully not a de-humidifier guzzling floodwater from the carpets yikes
