The Boxster deteriorated pretty quickly. I knew the water pump was knackered but it started making horrendous noises and has now taken to pissing coolant out of the pump. Just as well the new pump has just arrived!
if you think about it, that's actually a really good result Engine making horrible noises could be really nasty, this is probably the least worst outcome.

The nasty noises were the reason it was a bargain. I drove it a couple of months ago and suspected that the water pump was the issue. It's just impressive how quickly it went in my ownership. It probably took offense to being re-introduced to a decent amount of revs
What are you doing with it now? Could be interested as a project.. Joe.. said:

What are you doing with it now? Could be interested as a project.. Sub 5k for a 2001 3.2 S. Sports seats, litronics, split wheels, heated seats and what appears to be extended cow.

Not a patch on MadRob's re VFM though. Do you have a progress thread for your 944?

Some sort of aftermarket exhaust and not much by way of history or maintenance in the advert. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Point noted on the exhaust, but:Advert said:
The history file for the car is comprehensive with every receipt kept from new
Although, that's open to interpretation. Unable to ascertain MOT history as the plate appears to have been transferred.Hi, I’m looking to buy a 2.7 Gen 1 Cayman and I have been keeping my eye on a few and they seem to not be shifting as quick as they were when the weather was better.
This car has been up for sale for a while, high mileage I know. It looks very clean and good history, but to me there seems to me an issue with how the wheels are aligned with the wheel arches. Does this suggest there has been work done to the suspension to lower the car or could this be PASM? There are no interior photos on the add to see if it has PASM and no mention in the advertisement.

Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Some generic comments from me (never owned a Porsche).Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Full Service History doesn't mean with Porsche. I'd want to know where it has been serviced and evidence appropriate work has been carried out. Also are those service intervals what Porsche recommend?
91,306 miles ... so factor in some maintenance costs ahead. That's already a higher mileage than most folk would consider and once you're over 100k you'll alienate even more. So could be difficult when you come to part with it. Make sure that's factored in to the purchase price.
5+ owners ... does that mean 6 or 26 ?! Six wouldn't necessarily worry me on a car this old. It would be good to know length of ownership of each. Have the last 2-3 only owned it for very short periods? (suggesting a troublesome car).
I haven't looked at other adverts from the seller but given there are 12 photos including a couple of odd close-ups I'd be asking myself why no better photos of the interior, the seats, etc. In my experience the single biggest letdown when viewing used cars has been just how poorly maintained the leather seats look. Used car dealerships go to town washing and waxing and buffing the exterior for photos and passing trade ... then you look at the inside and it's a dog.
Mismatching tyres . Looks like Bridgestone rear, Michelin front? Not the end of the world? I'd want matching boots on a performance car.
And as said, it definitely looks lowered. I'd want to know how/by who/with what/when ... does this suggest other mods? Does it compromise ride comfort / handling / speed bumps!

I wouldn't get hung up on the amount of owners for a Porsche or similar car. It's not unusual for people to have one for 6 months or so, especially when they're newer. Mine had 3 owners quickly before I bought it, 1 had the suspension refreshed, the next the brakes and the chap I bought it off needed the money as he'd just moved to a new bigger shop and needed to free up funds to stock it. I'd rather 3 owners like that than 1 that doesn't look after it

For an extra couple grand I'd go 2.9 gen 2 but now I look they seem to start at 17 - which feels high. This car has been up for sale for a while, high mileage I know. I can't see the PASM button in the console.
But yes, the car has been lowered, as others have already stated.
One thing I noticed. It has stitching on the instrument cover but none on the upper door card...
Cheers for the feedback Guys, much appreciated. I am going to keep looking and give this car a miss as I would like something standard and a car with less miles. There seem to be a few about in the 14K bracket and some of the dealers are dropping the price of them by a few hundred every week.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
