I put in a LOI and asked if I could put a deposit down but the Dealer would't accept it until the official release.

I agree the waiting list will be huge but that will help residuals.

Initial demand sure to be high but this is going to be a high volume car so dont get too hopeful.

Unless of of course it turns out to be a gem and enough to get people out of an Evoque

Does Porsche not do paper based brochures, I called my local OPC and the receptionist was confused.

Yes they do in the form of Hardback books, but I doubt they will have Macan brochures/ books as yet

The thought of a v6 turbo, 4 wheel drive, reasonable practicality and a Porsche badge on the front will probably put the Macan at the top of the class. Looking at what happened to the KN when it came out and the last 3 years I suspect the demand will keep prices above average for some time. Pure speculation I know and that's not the main reason for getting one but if they retain above average value it'll be a nice bonus.

As for the waiting list, I guess its going to be 6-9 months depending on which model you want from the launch day in November. Cant see delivery much before March or April. I guess most people would not want a 63 anyway, they will want a 14.

I found this pic on another website - it neatly shows the size and stance difference between the Cayenne and Macan.

I wonder why they are still testing at this stage? Do Porsche normally test right upto launch?
Or is it just PR?

Guys...this is testing of facelift 2015 Cayenne....just happens to have a non-camo Macan in one of shots. All the Cayennes are camo'd up.

After reading on here about some of you putting down deposits I contacted my local dealer. I was told that if some of the dealers are taking deposits they are braking the franchise rules(if they are franchises).

Yeah I know, my biggest requirement is the boot. With a rear screen sloping that much, my Labrador isn't gonna be happy. Sat in a Q5 & that rear leg room was rubbish & the boot floor too high.

Was hoping to spend less than a Cayenne, not gonna be so. Rangy Sport it will be.....

There's not much in it between a decently specced new Cayenne or a RR Sport. I'm looking at one or the other. Was quoted over a year for a RRS build though, which is putting me off. Great car though. The Macan looks like it will a rubbish dog carrier.

OK, this question is aimed at those who would buy one. You're looking at a 'must have' spec - at best guess without an options list published yet what would you have?

PASM
DAB
BT
etc etc?

For me it will be:

Park Assist w/camera
Privacy Glass
Auto tail gate
Heated Front Seats
Heated S/W
PCM
Bluetooth
DAB

Gearbox remains TBC as we dont know exact details.
Same with wheels and paint options.

Its looking like we will go for Macan S. I am kind of hoping the S might come with nice wheels and maybe PASM.
I think the Macan Turbo is going to be £65-70k... eek.

Genuine question: why PASM on this car? The ride will presumably be comfortable without it, and anyone who wants to have the option of sharpening up the suspension for a sportier feel is probably kidding themselves a bit - it is still a 4x4.

If it were free, sure it would be a nice addition, but I find it hard to see how it is worth the money when you could either (a) go without or (b) spec another more pertinent option.

One of the reasons for asking the question was just that - with what I guess will be steel springs rather than the air on the Cayenne will PASM make all that much difference? I've never had adjustable suspension so would I really miss it? Also, coming from an X3 which does have a firm setup would it be worth the extra?
