Sorry Gents, I still have not got anywhere near good enough to post sound & video to let you have a taste of what it really sounds like. I am going to chad it up a bit tonight and take some stood still video of car going under a bridge if I can find a stupid enough volunteer to help me out.

Just completed the hard task and parted with my head earned!!!!

Car should arrive at Leicester OPC today, we are hassling them for a pickup tomorrow, but looks more likely to be Monday now...

This will be first White car with black wheels I've seen, and Leicesters first PSE equipped car very excited now :-)
Will look good with the black wheels as contrast Andy - We will have to have a mini meet for all new Boxster owners soon - Before the country gets overrun with them.

Certainly nothing wrong with mine on build quality. So i dont think anyone need worry - picked up mine 10 days ago so not one of the first so may have sorted the build issues out. So far so good anyway

In my personal opinion - I would definitely choose again if I had to re-spec my 981

PDK cos the thing is so bloody quick you wouldn't know whether to change gear or keep a hold of the steering wheel if you specced a manual.

PSE cos it just sounds absolutely awesome and gives you an aural treat compared to the non PSE (It does sound a lot better with PSE i can assure you.)

20" wheels PASM or not as both rides on 20" very comfortable aswell as grips the road - PASM would really be suited to more flatter road surfaces as when in sport mode it really really stiffens up.

Sport chrono with PDK as sports plus mode is very very responsive when in auto mode.

Any size, I'm just grateful to be a beholder these days.
Thats why I bought a 2 seater sports car with a wife and 3 little kids.

Not to get hold of the titties I may add but because i do not behold them anymore myself - They are usually latched on to by my little boy.......

Cracking Spec,

You will love it - the only downside is cleaning the brake dust but that gives you an excuse to keep it looking top notch.

Sports exhaust is the one defining thing that I love and could not have forgiven myself if I had not waited for it.

I have said it and will continue to say it. PSE is without doubt the best option on my list of many many options that I picked on my 981S. It' sounds IMO a hell of a lot better than the std setup especially now it's run in at 2500 miles. PSE PSE PSE

If you read back and see how I came to order one (whim) and bear in mind it's my DD (replacing my now sold JCW Mini) so I don’t have to use my (now 4.5 years old but still mint) E92M3 everyday (I know, you're thinking "what?") you start to realise that the whole process has been utter idiocy so a £1400 exhaust is a minor point frankly.

But if we weren’t idiots about our cars, we wouldn’t be warbling on about every minor point on here eh. In fact, given that thought, I think it should be mandatory to order the PSE or be banned from PH surely? Pointless cars and related paraphernalia is what separates us from the masses isn’t it?
I will do my lines on the blackboard now Sir.

I am a feckin idiot
I am a feckin idiot
I am a feckin idiot
I am a feckin idiot
I am a feckin idiot
I am a feckin idiot
Don't forget to add PSE

Love it

S also has bigger discs at the front: 330mm instead of 315mm
you think the engine, discs and calipers are worth the extra 7k?
Without doubt the engine in the S compared to the standard is far more beefier - Dont get me wrong the Standard is fine if all you care about is the looks of the car and a bit of grunt - BUT if you like to go fast and hard pardon the pun you have gotta get the Sport "Its a no brainer for 7K"

Yet the 2.7 981 is as fast, if not faster than the original 3.2S Boxster which people raved about.
The handling is sublime in all of the mid engined platforms however IMO £7k for a better spec of engine plus brakes lights etc etc would be the no brainer for me after spending that amount of cash - The 981s is a far superior car to the 987 986 etc in relation to performance but dont get me wrong you can have some great fun in all of them but I feel the 981s is a really serious machine now withe the performance & handling.

PS if £7k is not a problem otherwise as always budget dictates.

i think the difference in brakes is only about 15mm on the front, the rears are the same (obviously the caliper colour differs)

i'm also looking at a 2.7, but its coming in at £48.5K and the S is £54.5K

the dealer was suggesting the 2.7 would be fine as i'm going PDK, if i went manual then the S is the way to go. I test drove a 2.7 PDK and it seemed plenty quick enough, its not devastatingly fast (noticeably slower than my old 997.1S) but the days of hauling round on the road everywhere are pretty much over with congestion and speed cameras and i can't risk using it on track due to the value.(gonna get a cheap track slag)

Oh the 2.7 PDK has lower road tax, i'm doing 20k miles pa so the extra economy is fairly important to me as well.

saying all that i've got an extended drive in a S PDK next week... that's probably not a good idea wink
Dont take the test drive in the S. NOOOOOOOO

You said it all when you said the days of hauling round on the road everywhere are pretty much over - Then the 2.7 makes sense.

Bye the way I am not an Standard phhhhh Sports Snob - But if you feel the need for the power increase then go do it.

Taken from my comment on another thread - just too lazy to type it out again.

Got my Boxster S in August - They are hugely practical and myself and my golfing buddy get our 2 pencil bags in the rear boot with 2 drivers and 2 rescue woods plus shoes waterproofs etc no problem at all. Front boot gets 2 massive sized soft ie not hard plastic cases in for our luggage and when the wives permit were off to wherever - Gleneagles next weekend as they have a good 4 ball offer on - What more can be said for the 981 Boxster S - Absolutely brilliant car every day driver / Top speed Hell Racer & even would be great if used on track.

Only bad point is that I have a small family and may be forced to sell due to practical reasons and might have to buy the 991 as it has 4 seats - Bugger that as I think the Boxster is a better Porsche than all of the other models.

So if anyone interested let me know. boohoo

Spec is bountiful with PSE PASM Sports Chrono PTV etc etc
