Porsche Edinburgh have a ...... Boxster S in stock just now ........ Basic price - £43,600.
Hmmmm, I think not. If you want a base Boxster S it will cost somewhat more than £45,000 The base 2.7 litre car looks good value at £37,500 if you can avoid being tempted by the options list!

£45,384 on the Porsche website but weirdly £43360 on my order form. Probably the OTR stuff. Having said that that stuff doesn't come to the difference.
£45,384 includes 3rd year warranty and assist which is optional, but excludes First Registration Fee (£55) and First Year's Road Tax.Edited by _Leg_ on Tuesday 21st August 21:32

Funnily enough the wheel arches look too big on that.
Then people think the wheels are small - but check out those arches against the size of the car, they are just too big, the 987 looks better in that respect.
It's almost as if Porsche have designed it so that you spec up bigger wheels. Then people think the wheels are small - but check out those arches against the size of the car, they are just too big, the 987 looks better in that respect.

I sort of agree .. I think 20" looks too big. Then people think the wheels are small - but check out those arches against the size of the car, they are just too big, the 987 looks better in that respect.
best compromise would be to add PASM ro 19" to reduce the gap by 10mm
Wierdly I think 20s look too big on my E92 M3 (it has 19 inch Breyton GTS wheels on it) but 19s look too small on the 981. It needs 20s IMO and handles fine on them (much more neutral than my M3 which is more tail happy than a puppy that just discovered a family sized bag of biscuits). It also has a much better ride on 20s than my Mini JCW (which it is replacing) has on non run flat 17s.

Just ordered a Boxster S for Jan build and March 1st delivery. Ordered red with black and black 20 Carrera wheels but not finalised on the colour. I really want my wife to drive it but she thinks red is a bit lairy. May end up Aqua Blue.
Did you request that timescale on purpose to get a March plate or is that the quickest they can do? I ask as I was told end of October delivery on an order last week.Looked at a red 2.7 last week with platinum matt wheels-as I've said here before it was the best looking car in the centre imho!
Red is at the more "flash" end of the spectrum, but I think it's the best colour for the 981-much better than on the 987 for some reason.
I don't like the blue on any Porsche. If I was looking it toned down it's better to stick with the gray/silver or black car imho-but hey buy what you like yourself!! It's too easy to get confused by opinions on here sometimes!
Whatever you do get the air intakes in the body colour!!

In July I was offered an August build for a September delivery but I decided to wait until next Spring to enjoy the car during the summer. So I am ordering very early for next year!! If I wanted an early car, I understand I could have an October build slot and a November delivery so no long waiting lists.
Regarding colour - I favour the red but i do want my wife to drive it and enjoy it. I have ordered the air intakes and mirrors in body colour but not the rear venturi/lower bumper which will be black
