Me neither, but it came on the car and the previous owner wanted it to stay with the car. It would be shame to take it off.

Definitely keep it. It works because it's a standard format and only people in the know would get it. smile

Well done Mr Wood, many hours of happy motoring right there.

So first thing first, let's get you started on the road to ruin....that slippery slope of no return that's pretty mandatory with these vehicle's.

Swap out those woeful looking yellow front indicator bulbs for Philips Silverline or similar.

Order up a much smaller front plate instead of the dam you're currently pushing around.

As you intend to track, that rear ride hight in way off, take it to JZM right near you for correct setting's

That'll do for starters, you can talk to JZM about major improvements when you're there namely fitting the all important Cup MotorSport Diff, as your's is already worn and causing instability.

Then there's driving tuition, spare set of wheels, several sets of tyres, brake pads galore, sleepless night wondering why it wont turn in like others do on track.....and that just for the first week

Trip back down the M6 this morning for work. Although I've read and heard people talk about the engine, until you've really experienced it at full chat you can't comprehend how special it is.
Having driven a 997GT3 for a few days last year this example feels every bit as strong. I suppose at 30k its not even run in.
Getting lots of looks coming down the M6. Are they laughing at the plate? :-)

Great thread. You have managed to capture that exciting feeling that you maybe used to get on Xmas Eve as a kid.
very seldom to be replicated as you get older unfortunately
No point in saying enjoy the car as you obviously are already. Congrats

The 996 GT3 engine on full chat is a totally insane and addictive experience.

Back in early 2006 I had just taken collection of my fabulous MY06 Spec C and was at Brunters for a bit of hooning. I went out in a GT3 that was there and Don Palmer took me out for a drive.

The first time the engine went from 5-8k rpm on full throttle that was it - I had to have a GT3. It took me another four years before I did it - bit it is so addictive.

Indeed the 7.2RS doesn't sound anywhere near as good frown

Why is the GT3 badge in the wrong place?

How easy are those logos to remove/re-place anyway? Would annoy me no end being in a non-standard position.

You must be easily annoyed pal.lol

Some folk remove them comeletely, personally i don't see the big deal with it not being in a standard position, if it was mine, i'd remove it altogether, as i prefer the stealthy look!!, however, we're all different!!!

Unless it has been put back in the wrong place by a body shop who didnt know where they go after a crash and fix/ paint?

Huh ? I cannot believe you do not garage it.
What a daft statement.
So only garage owners are allowed to buy a GT3?

Yeh highly possible, it could easily have had a scratch put across it and the owner wanted the full tailgate done, and maybe it was his preference that the badge went there? Or the Badge was weathered and was removed to be painted, or replaced all together. Who know's, who care's, as long as OP is happy with the motor thats all that matters.
