993TT Track Day Tyre Pressures???
Discussion
With regular road tyres I normally run my pressures at the recommended pressures which in my car is 36/44 (stated inside the fuel filler flap). I achieve this by dropping them prior to going on track to 33/41, do a few laps and heat them up and then come in and drop them back to 36/44 again. I run these same pressures wether at Nurburg or Bruntingthorpe. I use a gauge which I bought from the OPC which cost about £14, the gauge can also be used to release air, by turning it around and prodding the valve.
I know many of the track gurus use a wide variety of pressures according to specific cars and weather conditions. Clubsport, Melv, Peterpeter any opinions?
DAZ
BTW - Don't tail other cars at Brunters. Even though they have improved recently you will still get lots of stone chips on the front if you do.

Sorry can't help too much with TT pressures...the pressures quoted do sound high to me!
On 2wd 993 a lot of track guys run between 32-34 HOT! more often than not the same pressure on both axles.
You have to consider with the weight of the engine and heat generated on track the rear pressure will rise more than the front anyhow.
the 993TT normally has slightly narrower tyres than 996TT also, so that will make a difference.
The guys with the best knowledge on this would probably be some of the gt2 guys Vic c,993 RSR & burzel....I don't really know of anyone who seriously tracks a TT....
there are a few guys on www.rennlist.com 993TT forum, who may have more of a clue and melv is still away on holiday i beleive.
If no joy i would start at 36 Hot front/back and see how it feels, adjusting down.
