although its not my own (mine is the .R) my dads heavy spec'd 981 S in yellow stood out as a clear favorite in terms of colour and overall presence next to other 981 and 991 in the opc on teusday at collection

Ditto. Really like the blue interior - really compliments the Platinum Silver.

Am I the only one that never knew Alcantara was an option? That box will definitely be ticked next May!!

Would be interested to see GT Silver with Espresso interior/roof combo.

Really like the GT Silver with red roof, but think the interior could be a bit much. Also clashes with the yellow PCCB callipers.

Without going off topic - are they handing over a new 997 GTS in the background..??!! Surely the factory can't still be producing those..??

The colour coded mirrors and side vents look great.

Nice touch! They ought to be standard IMHO?

I couldn't believe the cheap and nasty plastic that fixes the mirror to the door, when I had a courtesy GR Boxster this week?

Maybe not so bad on a dark car?

And the mirror shape - What were they thinking?

Personally it was my first experience of the cofigurator, I was completely blown away by the fact wing mirror, air itake and bare plastic had to be optioned as a extra to be painted, completely ridiculous! As with the bare rear bumper, unpainted is just incomplete IMO, as with floor mats etc Porsche certainly know how to produce a starting point... And then make you increase the cost.
If your doing it, do it properly but Porsche I thought would have from the beginning, not on paid request

Surprising the majority have not chosen this option.

A must in my opinion.

Bloody cheeky of Porsche charging for it.

Why are the air intakes and mirror arms not colour coded on the 981?

Why do any options exist? Kerching for Mr Porsche. Embossed headrests on my e92 m3 - standard, on my 981 - £138. Lol.

Alcantara, which is always my comfort preference.
So, are they the standard sets? I am tired of full leather seats and fancy saving myself £700 odd quid on leather seats too!

colour coding on those areas is not available from the factory apparently.
