Is it me or is it just Porsche things on eBay but whenever anything comes up in which I have the remotest interest the seller either can't be bothered to reply to my questions or otherwise takes the item down before the auction ends. This is really a bit of a pi**er.

Having said that much of the stuff for sale goes for rather more than you can buy it for from reputable dealers (eg standard Porsche enamel bonnet badges selling for over £20 when you can get them new for under £15 if you know where to look).

But still rather less than satisfactory (and you can't leave feedback for people you don't buy stuff from).
Guy.

i agree, though i have managed to buy a few things succesfully.

one thing never to buy is the gt3 split rims, i paid £700 for a set with tyres, and when the arrived all the lacquer was peeling off, and the refurb cost outweighed the benefit!

Quite humourous watching a few auctions where people get carried away and pay more than retail! a good example is the clear side indicators/back lights etc.

Oi sssshhhh

I am making a good living selling bonnet badges and indicator lenses at 50% markup from the dealer.

It is extremely funny to look back at a persons history and see them selling certain items at a profit that they only bought a few weeks ago from another ebayer.

I bought some good condition 17" Cup alloys complete with virtually new tyres for £520. The chap selling paid approx £900 earlier in the year (saw receipts). So a bargain can be had - which is nice.

Mind you I bought some metal pedal plates which were crap, 'only' £40 so not burned too much, just a light singe.

I bought the Porsche workshop manuals on CD via eBay. Don't know if I was unlucky or if they're all shite, but the CDs were corrupted and wouldn't run. The buyer gave me my money back to avoid negative feedback but made a couple of quid anyway on the postage - standard scam?

Then discovered a free PET download site and got manuals from eMule, so that's alright then .
