What’s the most valuable 911 you can buy?
Discussion
Just out of curiosity really. Looking at all the 911 variants that have been made over the past 40 odd years which one would be the most expensive to buy today bearing in mind the following qualifiers:
911 GT1 not included
No special history (e.g. famous owner)
More or less factory spec (no Gembellea, RUF or converted race cars)
Average miles and good condition for age
Would it be a 993 GT2, a 996 GT2, a brand new fully specced turbo or a rare 60’s model?

The 74 3.0 RS is beginning to fetch some serious money.
I think they are rarer than the 2.7RS, and only now becoming more popular.
I have not seen one under £125,000, and the red one below is more than £150,000.

Think 911R is still the daddy price wise, so few of them Im not even sure what is a fair market price is maybe £200k? certainly in excess of a mint RHD '73 RS (LWT)anyway, & as Melv says they can get £150k -yet was a chap tracking a real RHD LWT at Brands the other day! good lad
I mean cripes even the much more common RHD tourings have £80-90k price tags nowdays even LHD STs (with race history) etc have commanded over £100k.
The much bigger money in older cars is in things like 904s & 906s etc £250k-400k.

Sob Sob Sob...........I could have had a lovely 2.7 RS white and blue for £35K in 1993...........I am allways destined for poverty!
I met a lucky so & so who paid sub £30k for a real touring from some fella who really didnt know what he had, was just an old poker to him! it was a really nice geniuine car too needing no work, thats one of the best automotive deals ive heard of in quite a long while.

I may be able to get you a rare 993RS lhd available today at £50k...be quick before the prices catch up with the other RS
Its got great provenace too coz ive driven it, which can surely only increse the value
Unfortunatly though so too has el badger murderer Domster, which I'm afraid CS with that sort of downer on the car means its now worth £2.57 and a curlywirly, so I'll be generous & give you a fiver for it
