Are There Any Air Cooled Porsche PHers Left?
Discussion
Real Ale festival? Damn I missed the notice in that one, I've taken my 993 to the "scratch your beard" nationals...
Internet is a bit slow around here, something to do with the interference caused by all the metal buckles on everyone's sandals....
911uk is your haven for air cooled chat these days....

Two pages of discussions and no air cooled....
I must admit I was thinking the same thing, maybe it's time for a split between water or aircooled, within the Porsche section?Lets be honest, they think we all grow beards and drink ale, and we can't really understand there attraction to the ''Your worth it ' mentality and a cold lager.
:-)
EDITED. I mean't it all as a joke, I don't want a split, and I don't believe all you kettles are Pinot swigging, sack, crack and backs either..... honest

I think there's a bit of a mass exodus happening in general on here at the minute. Sometimes things seem a bit stale and a few of the old names have stopped posting.
Heck, I'm only on here so much as I have too much time on my hands at work.
I don't know if a split is a good idea. As good as 911uk is, it's very slow moving compared to P'heads.
Plus a lot of water-cooled lads have come from air-cooled and still like to see and read about them, and vice-versa.
I'm sure I miss loads of good threads on 911uk because I don't scour all the sections. Here you can see everything that's going on and pick and choose what to leave.
There is a lack of light-hearted threads though lately. Probably because they usually end up with the pedants pulling people on some meaningless point.
We need some good old picture threads too. Some days I'm happier just looking at some nice cars rather than reading about them. Although it is hard, especially in the winter, to find some inspiring shots worth posting.

I think most have found other forums such as 911uk and Rennlist is very popular for the air cooled gang but Pistonheads is still one I visit on a regular basis just don't post much. The majority of water cooled guys I've ever met do appreciate "old school" and there's nothing wrong with the Beard and Ale banter it's all part of the fun for me. Start a pic thread for sure but don't let's get in to a how much my cars worth thread it bores me to death One of mine for Marky:
I think a split is'nt a good idea as some PHrs, including myself, swap back and forth between aircooled & watercooled. I love reading about all types of Porsche, even the non-911 variety ,so please keep as is. As already said, 911UK can be a bit slow moving after PH's.

I have two air cooled Porsches! I just have not got much to say. There seems to be a lot more happening on rennlist with the 964 boys, regular meets and lots of posts. I still look at PH every day as I suppose others do.
Same for me. Indeed, Rennlist is very active for 964 stuff. As is 911UK of recent times. I tend to just read PH threads these days rather than post. Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
