I think most have found other forums such as 911uk and Rennlist is very popular for the air cooled gang but Pistonheads is still one I visit on a regular basis just don't post much. The majority of water cooled guys I've ever met do appreciate "old school" and there's nothing wrong with the Beard and Ale banter it's all part of the fun for me. Start a pic thread for sure but don't let's get in to a how much my cars worth thread it bores me to death One of mine for Marky:
Looking good Des, like a lot, you've been fettling again!!By the way did you replace the air-cooled foot wear?

Snap!Autocar had mine last week at a snowy Silverstone to drive and film for a 911 celebration. I think it will be in next week's issue.

Just replacing the suspension and bushings on mine as we speak, chose Billy's with HR springs in the end. Couple of small oil leaks from cam covers to sort, full service then back on the road.

Gave up on 911 uk, far too clicky and boringly against anything water cooled.
Shame really as I have a bit of a beard and I like real ale....
Hmmmm, I've just been over there, the damn site hangs for ages before the page loads fully, I'm guessing this is because of adverts. Very frustrating.Shame really as I have a bit of a beard and I like real ale....
Worse than having to wait for me aircooled to warm up so I can raise the revs above 3K.
Theres definitely been a shift over the past year ot two. Its the 996, and I guess the Boxster. They are such a cheap purchase proposition that its bringing new owners to Porsche who are different to the old school die hards. These people are coming from Scoobys and hot hatches etc.
How many 'Thinking of buying a 996, they are ony 10k, are they reliable, how much will it cost a year?' posts do we get these days?
I'm not suggesting its a bad thing, its just reflecting the direction the marque has taken.
Having said that, look a the ammount of GT3 forum traffic there is. There are still many enthusiasts that want extreme cars.
