Cut-price, full postcode nav update available for PCM-3
Discussion
Hey guys I had an update to mine done a few months ago and got to say it does not seem to be very good. When I put in the full postcode it just seems to navigate to the end of the road that the postcode corrolates to. Surely it should go to the section of the road that the postcode corrolates to not just the road? This is not very useful when the road could be several miles long or when you have a postcode and no house number.
Has anyone else found this?

[apologies for the necropost]
So, first day with PCM today (and it's been updated to 2.24) - is nav just terrible? Late directions, poor lane indication, no meaningful traffic avoidance... while I love having the next turn indicated on the speedo display, and having the voice interrupt music, etc, the tomtom app on my phone seems far superior.
Is there a standard approach for getting an app displayed on screen when in motion? I have the iphone/lightning adapter working, wondering if I can just load tomtom and have it play on the inbuilt screen, even if I lose the speedo direction indicators....
Other than that, loving the car -p
[and the upgrade is still 150quid btw]

I contacted West London and Guildford a few weeks ago, both would do the update on my 7.1 GT3 for £150. Haven't had a chance to go round and drop iot with them for the work yet
Mario - you may wish to check this. Pretty sure the update the OPC's are talking about is just the latest maps. It won't be for full 7 digit postcode as your PCM is an older version (2.1 probably) and updates do not include that.If they say they will update the maps for £150 though that is not bad as a new disc used to be silly expensive something like £400 from Porsche I think.Mario149 said:
I recall them confirming it was full postcode functionality included, but will check again befor I pull the trigger!
Yes do mate...I was told the updates which to be fair to Porsche were fairly comprehensive not just a UK 7 digit postcode entry - but it was only for PCM 3.0 onwards i.e the touchscreen sat nav...be good to know if they have done something to take into account older sat navs too though my mate has same car as you so sure he'd want it done too.Guys following on from this what do I have to do to check what version I have of the PCM 3? - I think you press 2 buttons simultaneously or something?
I just bought a 997 GTS and even though I asked Porsche while it was there 3 times having the major service to check what version I was running they couldn't be bothered...
