Where do you store your pictures?

There may be more ways to do it - but this will work... First of all you should put your photo on your webspace (if you can't do that - don't read on!)

You then open a post and type
img src="http://www.xxxxx.com/xxxx.jpg" width="xxx" height="xxx"

changing all the variables fom xxxx to your webspace, your photo title and it's size

but you have to add <
at the front
and >
at the end - to make it work...

thus
img src="http://www.stevecarter.com/argentina.jpg" width="320" height="260"

adding < and > becomes:

And if you don't have webspace, visit www.fotango.com and follow the instructions there to upload photos.

Once you have done that, view your favourite photo and select the 'Get a Link to this Picture' option. Then copy the URL provided (it'll look something like www.fotango.com/p/eba00225376f00000007.jpg).

Back to PH, create a post and paste the above URL between [ p i c ] and [ / p i c ] (remove spaces). Hey presto:

I totally agree with this. I'm afraid I missed the whole IT revolution but on a spin of Blackadder's commentry re. the wearing of trousers, I can use my PC but have no idea how it works or what's really going on inside the little bugger.
I too would like a moron's guide to the submitting of this type of data by someone with experience of working with 'problem' children.
Bibble.

Close, but that URL doesn't look right. There shouldn't be a space, and something is missing between the 'com' and '400'.

Computers - dontcha love 'em .

In the "Formatting Codes" section, is the syntax on how to do it. Unfortunately, if you simply put in as it says, it won't work. You MUST put in the full URL.

Hope this helps.

Try the FAQ I put on the website feedback forum, it should help. It looks as though you haven't set up the public access correctly.

Cheers,

Steve,

It looks like the address is not working. There's a way to copy and paste the adress.

just let me know, what browser you're using - MS Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, or else (?).

cheers,
Bodo

Ah, then it should be the Netscape thing.

To get an image's address, you'll have to see the image itself in your browser window.

Place the mouse-cursor on that picture, and press the RH mouse-button.
A menue appears, from which you choose Copy Image Location.

Now the address is stored in your clipboard. It's invisible, but you could paste it in this forum's text entry field simply by placing the mouse cursor on that field, press the right mouse button again and choose Paste.

Now the address appears in the correct format. Simply set the image tags [ pic] and [ /pic] (without gaps) and have a preview if it works.

Thats all!

Bodo

nb. you could have a try with the Gassing Station logo above:

the address is (got it by above procedure):
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/images/gassing.jpg

and with the added image tags it should work like this:
