I certainly agree the car and the plastic parts will not have been painted either at the same time or from the same paint batch but part of the production engineering of the car is to ensure the paint process - painting different parts of the car in different locations from different batches of paint at different times - is sufficiently robust so that variations are negligible.

That said, grey metallics (including silver) are notoriously difficult to match but that is no excuse. Porsche control the process and it should be fit for purpose.

Good for you to pursue this, I agree the Porsche response is pants. No doubt their initial response to the GT3 fires was to blame anyone but themselves for the SNAFU.
