Hope someone can help me with this. I've got a 944 Turbo (1985) and it originally had the Fuchs style alloys in it. I wasn't too keen on these and wanted to bring it up to date a bit so found some Design 90s on E-BAY. I've put them on but they look a bit weeny and don't look like they fill the arches like the Fuchs ones.

I believe the Design 90s to be 6x16 front with 205x55x16 tyres, the rears 8x16 with 225x50x16 tyres. The tyres are the same sizes on both sets of wheels.
Have I got the right wheels, and is this normal?

Cheers

The width of the rear is correct but 6" fronts ? Thought the fronts were 7"s normaly ? Also the off set may be wrong, thats the position of the wheel centre relative to the inside/outside of the wheel.

Unfortunatley I dont have any stats handy to help.

Sounds like you've got a set off a 964, which are 6x16 ET52 and 8x16 ET52.

Yes, I think you're right there Ian, what sizes should they be?

On late 944s, D90s came in two sets :
S2 : 7x16 ET 55 front / 8x16 ET 52.3 rear
S2 with "sport chassis" and Turbo : 7.5x16 ET 65 front / 9x16 ET 52.3 rear.

The 85 & 86 turbo had narrower front and rear tracks and rims had therefore smaller offset than on later cars.

Thanks for that guys. I thought the Style 90s would bring it more up to date a bit but if it looks like it's riding round on pushbike tyres it would be better with the old ones back on. The joys of motoring....
