996TT one off judder under v. hard acceleration

Curious thing happened yesterday, car was warmed up not quite to the point the needle normally sits but well past the cold stage. I floored it and got high boost for 2 sec then a bad judder for 1 sec and reduced power (-150bhp) for about 1 sec then all OK.
As I was overtaking at the time I was not looking at the instuments but once past the truck I looked and the temp guage had dropped by about 40% ?
What's going on ? Dodgy guage ? Probabaly caused some wear on the turbos ? I have never tried but does the engin manageent stop one from flooring it if the engine is cold ?

Can't comment on the power loss, it shouldn't do that!
But mine is the same on the temperature front, you think it's nearly up to normal temp. floor it & find it drops back to half normal levels. I only have a short 20 minute drive into work & in reality it probably takes 15 minutes to fully warm up, frustrating!!!
